I wasn't going to bother with this thread after seeing those Lions.... they are just too much!
Ok, well... I'd been after a Cornford Hurricane for a while but just hadn't the cash but came across one that had been made into a head... a flippin' horrible leppard print one. They had also covered the control panel with some kind of horrid gold film, maybe to give it a Plexi look? I don't know. Bottom line is, apart from a couple of crackly pots it sounded wonderful. Oh yeah, the reverb unit came in a bag, whoever designed the head box didn't take into account the reverb unit? WTF. After 2 patient night of softening the gold film and nearly buring out my better halfs hairdryer, the chassis was back to normal with minimal damage to any of the lettering. So I called both Mongotone and Cornford ref a combo box (I would have loved a Mongotone built one - can't say enough about his work) but they were both too expensive, I may as well have bought a combo to start with. I got lucky and found an oversized 1 x 12 Cornford cab on the Bay and drove to surrey to pick it up. The cab was pretty darn good and to be honest I started to doubt if I should be chopping this up to get the amp to fit. I shouldn't have doubted myself, it all turned out pretty good... looks good and sounds huge. So I guess it's a kind of one off... a wide bodied Hurricane!

The new pedal is a Keeley Ltd Edition Time Machine for adding a littlemore of the same to my amps, haven't really got a clue why I bought it but I did! Should be here today ready for Saturdays gig.

Nice amp, good skills as well, looks great.
what guitar is that btw ?

Cheers both :D
Dazza, it's a G&L Legacy... an older 3 bolt neck model that honestly is the second best strat I've ever played. I know it's all subjective... but I never really got on with Strat types but this one is the one for me. Nothing special but I wouldn't swap it a a top dollar C.S Fender even if I had the chance. I just put some custom wound pick ups in the middle and neck made by a guy on the S.D forum, they are SUPERB. Now I'm just waiting for a S.D Custom Surfer bridge (hotter than standard) to complete this guitar.

Ha ha.... Well after a 6 hour round trip from West Brom to Surrey my better half was panicking more than me... moaning that it was going to have been a waste of time AND money! To be honest she had a point because got home late afternoon, walked the dogs, went shopping and had tea the England game was on. So feeling well pissed off and having a few bottles of Bud I and feeling a little merry ( I don't drink much at all) I got the drill and jigsaw out and set to work! She of little faith... I reckon the Dutch courage helped in this case!

Congratulations Don,
That amp looks lovely if you had not said about it being a converted 1x12 I would not have guessed. Nice work!
Intresting that you went for another pedal too. Will me intrested to here what you think of that one.
Hope you enjoy them both.

Cheers bud, If I had known I was going to get the Hurricane I would have kept the BB Pre Amp as I think it would have been ideal. Have heard good things about the Time Machine but don't really know what to expect..... we shall see :)

The pedal came today and O LEE cr@p it's good! I've not had long with it, about 15 minutes, and I have to admit all my apprehension disappeared immediately. It's seems that this is more of a treble booster or rahter treble boosterS. It's hard to explain, but it just adds something to your sound... doesn't change the core tone, just builds on it. I can't wait to get back to it later... I'm going to put it on my board in a bit and I'll use it on saturday for the gig. If you get chance to try one - do it. I have honestly never been so impressed with a pedal before. 8)

yup, I've got one too and it's my all time fav booster. Pushing a slightly breaking up amp with modern side +warp switch = instand lead tone heaven. Vintage side offers nice gritty top end that cuts through the mix too.

Very nice looking pair! Lovely 8)
