Sinner Pickup help.
« on: November 08, 2010, 11:55:54 AM »
Hello all. i recently bought the Sinner single Coil to replace the bridge lace gold senor pick in my strat. After wiring it in i have noticed in postion 2 Bridge/middle has a  funny quacking??? sound (not bad but not what iam used to)
My question is is the  Sinners pickup polarity working against the middle pickup? and would changing the other pick ups  to The Trilogy pick ups make any noticable differance.
I play in a Blues/ Rock band  and need the guitar to cut through but without the harsh abrasiveness of a single coil
thanks

Welcome to the forum!  :D

It sounds like the bridge and middle pickups are out of phase - try swapping round the connections of the black and white wires from the Sinner and that should solve it (if it sounds even thinner, then they were already in-phase and that's just the way they sound together!).

I haven't tried the Sinner or Trilogy pickups personally, but I'm sure those in the know would say they'll sound better than the Lace Sensors!
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I always assumed this was what was going on with my C-Pig set. I really should fix it.
