Bad Taste & Brain Dead - Before Peter Jackson got famous and funny as hell.

Dead Mans Shoes - Low budget English film.  Absolutely brilliant, one of my favorites.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

_tom_: there aren't many modern hollywood classics anymore - i agree that fight club is one of them.

You beat me to it, Wez!  Infernal Affairs is much better - doesn't have the silly plot contrivances and it's much more ambiguous about who's good and who's bad.  Plus no ridiculous Jack Nicholson showboating.

Old School Hong Kong kung-fu movies you've probably not heard of but are well worth watching:

The Kid With The Golden Arm
Crippled Avengers
Ten Tigers Of Kwantung
Challenge Of The Masters
Instructors Of Death
Shaolin Master Killer
Return of the Shaolin Master Killer
8 Diagram Pole Fighter
Shaolin Challenges Ninja

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - Not too bad actually
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Great recomendation, want to see it
Rescue Dawn - Christian Bale? good long tale I believe
No Country For Old Men - Preeetty nice
There Will Be Blood - already commented :P
Sunshine - yawns...
The Fountain - clever story!
Eagle vs Shark - Lol, sorry, just didn't enjoy it
This is England - odd story, but good still

You have a lot of good ones in there, shall try and check out the rest of them,  I am fine with straying away from the scene, but as long as it doesn't take too long with low seeds. And aXXo for example gives regular updates, so I am happy with it.
I think you have listed some of the best recent films there anyway!

Also on Hong Kong front, a man cannot possibly go wrong with anything that involves the names Chow Yun-Fat and John Woo on the same DVD case.

ToneMonkey is also correct. Three copper-bottomed classics right there.

As for a few more...

Breaker Morant
He Died With a Felafel in his Hand
Me, You and Marley
Boondock Saints/Overnight (good seperately, dynamite together)
Haute Tension.
Evil, Evil, Evil...

Hard Boiled
God of Gamblers
God of Gamblers 2

Those are my favourite Woo/Fat films.

And if you're a pure Chow Yun Fat fan, and don't mind subtitles, definitely watch All About of Ah Long about a motorcycle racer (Cantonese title is A Lang De Gu Shi).
