Yeah, it's a cracking piece of wood - really distinctive.  It looks even better in the flesh.

Yeah the wood looks superb. The bulbous bit particularly looks great.

I think I've said this before, but I do like the way it's centre-joined with that almost bookmatched effect.  Warmoth take great pains over that (although I have a solid-colour one which is still two-piece, but with the join well off centre - fair enough, sensible use of timber).

I've seem some new natural-finish Fender American Standards where the ash bodies are two- or three-piece but they've made absolutely no effort to match the grain patterns.

Dodgy typos again!

Doesn't feel dry at all, it's slightly gummy as it's drying.

This could be true Dave. You should get a "Twincaster" headstock decal made up for it.
I think I hate being indecisive.

^ I like it!

Quick update - it lives!!!  :D  :D  :D  :D

All wired up, scratchplate and output jack fitted, tuners in place, bridge on etc etc.  Just fitted the bass E to check the electrics work and they do!  Woohoo!  All looking good  :)

Just going to fit the decals now, then string her up and fit the string tree.  Then it's time for a full setup.  Pics and a tone report later today........

All that whilst I've been filing down two pickup rings (to match the string angle) and filing the edges of the scratchplate to fit my Mira.

Ah well, if a job's worth doing, it's worth... overdoing.  :|
