Hi all
Just after a bit of advice from everyone on here. I've got a 63 relic strat, ash body, rosewood fingerboard on maple neck. Its got (I think) fender custom 60s pickups on it at the mo, which tbh sound pretty good clean but when pushed can sound a bit muddy - I've tried lowering them but they sound really thin when low, and you lose all that nice strat woodiness
I've already got a strat with what were called BKP 62s when I bought them (now slab board set) which are awesome and break up really well, but I don't really want to buy another of exactly the same p/u!
Has anyone on here got any experience of the fender custom 60s, and specifically whether BKPs (I was thinking of the mothers milk set) would suit an ash body strat and give a really nice woody clean sound but retain the note definition and not get muddy when pushed? I play with reasonably big strings (11-49 most of the time) if this makes a difference.
Ta!
