Zinc Steel Backing Plate
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:42:50 PM »
I've read the FAQ's on this and scoured the web for feedback and I'm still unsure as to whether or not I should order my Irish Tour set with the backing plate on the bridge pickup.  Can anyone advise me about this.  I'm putting these in an EJ strat, maple neck.  I realize the stock pickups in this are adequate but after a few years and experience with BKP I'd love to hear this with a different set, specifically the IT's.  I guess I'm trying to determine if there is a major difference in sound and tone with or without the plate

The baseplate adds some bottom and lower mids, close to a telecaster.
