Y'see. This is like the "I don't like Queen Thread" here. I hate Shawshank. Hate it, hate it , hate it. It's trite, predictable, rambling ould nonsense. Every half arsed prison cliché bunged in one film.

Sorry, had to let that one out.

Tom has just mentioned the Sleep's Holy Mountain album on another thread, which has reminded me of Alejandro Jodorowsky's films - Fando y Lis, El Topo, The Holy Mountain and Santa Sangre.  Sheer mind-f*cking genius!  :D

So anyway, have you been downloading like crazy the last couple of days, Will?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

Well, keeping up with a few groups general releases so its usualyl about  a week anyway, but I have seen a lot of the films already, have been working on finding the torrents, then shall send them all over to my other computer to download.

I tried 'Withnail and I' already though, everyone says its absolutely wonderful, from where I'm standing, it isn't completely shite, just weird

I think its fair that this thread may as well now be about general film recomendations and great / shitee films people have seen, I shall inform of my opinions on my regular d/l list

Anything by Akira Kurosawa or David Lynch!

I wouldn't say anything by Kurosawa.

Okay what would you say should be avoided then?

David Lynch's "Inland Empire" has some awesome mind-f*ckery stuff.

A few of the new relelases:

Teeth: meant to be comedy, it has a funny element, but the idea of a toothed 'woman's area' (the page would get blocked if i wrote it any differently on school firewall)
Conspiracy: pretty good, really made me angry with the treatment of a war veteran, and a nice storyline for a cheap lookng film
National treasure 2: Really felt like I had seen it before :? slow to get into, but after 50 minutes it was interesting. The best of the 3

Only watch 'teeth' if you are very bored...

I watched 12 Monkeys last night. I didnt fully understand it so I'm going to rewatch it when I'm more awake so I can make more sense of it :P I got the general jist of it but I feel as though I've missed some good bits still. Brad Pitts acting in it is REALLY good as well :)

It's a strange first watch, but an absolutely brilliant film once you start thinking about it. It's also one of the most quotable films ever, so many funny lines in there.

To contribute to the thread, I went to the cinema last night and saw The Eye. Utter bollocks. Started well, with some fairly scary scenes, but by the end was just relying on cheap shocks. Jessica Alba being in it was probably the only redeeming factor.

Anyone had the misfortune of seeing Jeepers Creepers, quite possible the cr@pest film ever to burn the back of my eyes.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

This afternoon I am watching An American Crime.
truly disturbing, more acceptable than hard candy, and a bit rougher than Juno. Its got that Ellen actress in it aswell. Not too shabby though, definately worth the watch.

Later I have Airplane I and II :D stupid comedy
