I am glad you like dhe clip- am trying to find a moment to play over a backing track- you know the kind of thing- bluesy type and hopefully it'll be good. As for what you are looking -for well I think they would achive it- certainly the Cropper tone. They are , in my view ( and I think what Tim intended)- traditional Tele pups. SRV obviously being more known for Strats it is a bit harder to say but SRV played a lot cleaner than a lot of people think. The pups will achieve that- I tend to go for clean or "just breaking up" tones and thes 'Boys do that extremely well.

Nice stuff, Mr Beatle, I just gave it a listen! That riff is from 'So Real' by Jeff Buckley, isn't it?

Certainly is Willo, or at least a stab at it. I just bought the "legend" edition and it reminded me of how much I loved that track so I worked it out- the timing is a bit off but I was concentrating on the sounds and the recording. Great song.

Well to me the CB's have done for my Tele what the Apaches have done for my Strat, i.e. given both a rich and warm traditional tone. Both guitars have come alive- in a gig situation they come into their own. I used to use the Tele for a couple of songs open tuned for slide but after the CB's were installed I re tune to standard during the break and use it a fair bit of the 2nd set. If you crank up the amp a bit the pups have this fantastic on the edge sound- a few people have remarked upon it.
