Was in discussions with Feline but i really couldn't afford one of his beautiful guitars at this point. So i went searching for a different guitar with the same kind of great spec but lower priced (i know extremely hard to find)
However, i found something that fits it perfectly :D
ESP LTD EC1000 Deluxe

Specs:
Set-Neck / 24.75"
Mahogany Body w/ Flamed Maple Top
3-Pc. Mahogany Neck / Rosewood Fingerboard
Earvana Compensated Nut / 42mm
Flag Inlays
24 XJ Frets
Aged White Binding
Chrome Hardware
Sperzel Locking Tuners
Tonepros T3B-T & T1Z Locking Bridge + Tailpiece
Seymour Duncan JB / 59
I am not the biggest fan of the traditional Les Paul feel (bad upper fret access imo), so i went for this as it's more suited to my style/tastes which fixes that e.g. 24 frets/upper fret access cutaway, body contour, 3 knobs instead of 4.
I can't stand bad tuning either so with Sperzel, Tone Pros and Earvana i should be alright :D (that was not to do with traditional LP's btw)
-
i think you need to show us a better pic of that upper-access cut away ;)
not my style, but i must say she looks top notch though - you must be stoked.
-
Yeah i love it, sounds great with the SD's in too :o blasphemy!!
It's secondhand btw, was a steal at the price i got it for too, just in case you were thinking i bought it new, i'm not that rich haha.

what happened to the ceramic holy diver loaded greco by the way?

It's on ebay, needs to sell to fund this really haha.
-
Gorgeous mate, great pickup combination too.
I'd sooner have that over a Gibbo LP any day of the week - higher quality parts, better construction.
-
Looks nice, I've been meaning to try one of the ESP LP shapes for a while but not gotten around to it.
-
How much for the Joanna :D
Is it entirely satin including the neck?

Pretty much all satin apart from the neck has a gloss finish, and i got it for £400 including hard case and postage. :D

YOU ONLY PAID £400 FOR THAT?!
:o

I'm phoning the Police, you just totally robbed that seller!
How's the neck profile? Is it more a 50's or 60's thickness? *prays you say the slimmer 60's*

She's a beauty and from the sounds an absolute bargain but why must they varnish the necks  .
-
Amazing value there! not quite my cup of tea, strays too far away from traditional LP-ism. ESP finishes seem to be quite consistent

Haha i know it was amazing, i couldn't believe my luck!
And yes it's the slimmer 60's style, on ESP's site it says Neck Type: Slim U or something.
-
Really good price for that guitar, well snapped-up :)
Now get off the board & go play it!
-
I'm sorry, but I think that guitar looks like cr@p.
Just kidding! (Wanted to see how it felt to be a negative-posting jerk)
That is a very fine looking axe! You left out some important details -- fret wire size (XJ doesn't mean anything to me), fret board radius, and nut width.
-
He did give nut width!
-

Awesome stuff, that's me sold!
-

no. no it doesn't. you are wrong - i hate that JB with all my heart.
LOOKS FIIIIIIINE though. i really like the look of that cutaway - i have a bruise on my ribs from playing my LP sitting down :(
-

Okay!
No need to yell about it!
-
sorry, have been feeling rather loud recently.
-
Haha, i don't know all the measurements but i just copied the stuff off ESP's site, all i care about is that it rocks my socks!
Possibility of BKP's in the future, though i don't have enough money for anything like that yet, and it's sounding great at the moment.
-
Very nice Joe-sounds like a bit of a bargain to me.
-
That's a great price for that guitar. Congrats!
-
I still say it'd be better with amber bell knobs like on LP standards - cant stand those large silver ones.
-
Large? lol they are smaller than my other LP's by a long way, i just don't think the amber suits the rest of the geetar.
-
i was going to ask why you didn't go for an edwards instead, but your last paragraph in the original post explained why...
Nice guitar, I liked the one I tried a while back. Wouldn't want to pay new prices for one, though...
:drink:
-
I really like the ESP / Ltd line.
Thats a fine guitar Joe.
Absolute bargain too!!! :o
I really like the ESP flag inlays I think they look sweet the way they mirror the headstock. But I'm sure they could improve on the 12th fret inlay... :?
-
Superb guitar - Deffo what I would buy if I was looking for an LP.
I won't hear a bad word said about the LTD Deluxe series - They're absolutely SUBLIME guitars.
-
Yeah it's a really nice playing and sounding guitar, i love it!
As for the starting price of a new one, i agree i would never pay that much, but if you can find one secondhand at a good price then it's definatley worth checking out :D
-
I'm not usually a big fan of "modern" guitars, but that's an absolute beauty. I really like the way ESP have "re-imagined" the Les Paul - not saying it's better, but it looks great. The only thing that puts me off is the slimmer neck.
And there's something about zebra pickups on a sunburst... perfect. :D
-
@TO,
XJ is short for Xtra jumbo, which i think is about 0.112" x 0.055"
(width x height) but i could be wrong.
or in other terms: massive!
