Title: New TO song --> Cold Sweat, Miracle Man, Abraxas
Post by: TwilightOdyssey on October 25, 2007, 02:06:54 PM
For some reason, this forum will not let me load a song for love or money, so here's a direct link:

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=5906078&q=hi

The song is from our 2007 promotional CD, and is titled Outlanders. I had posted a very rough mix of this song some time back.

All rhythm guitars = Cold Sweat bridge (Jimmy, left; me, right)
Jimmy's rig: Schechter C1 Classic > Marshall TSL > Marshall 1960A cab
My rig: Yoshi (Fender/Warmoth strat) > Splawn Quick Rod > Rivera cab
Arpeggiated acoustic = Jimmy
Acoustic melody lines = me
Synth pedals = me

Solos 1 & 2 = Abraxas neck (Jimmy)
Solo 3 = Miracle Man bridge (me)

Loved this song when you posted it first time around, it's even better now - better tone, playing, & arrangement.

Good stuff TO!

(Though I still like "Endless days of a stranger" more :))

This is excellent! I really love the tempo changes and it's great to hear the different but completely complimentary guitar tones. Also cool to hear a great female vocalist, effortlessly good.

I was wondering what tubes you went for in your QR? Really like the tone and the MM's really come alive with it. Are you using any effects or is are you going straight into the cab? Sorry I'm all questions these days

Cheers

Again, thanx! Typically, I've been using Mullard outer valves and Electroharmonic inner valves. I find the Mullards too smooth, and the EHX too biting, but together they blend into a really huge, percussive tone. Preamp valves are all Mullard.

Nope, no effects. Just guitar > amp. I don't even have volume controls on 3/4 of my guitars; in most cases the pickup is wired directly to the output jack.

Hope that answers your questions. Feel free to ask as many as you like!!
