Drummer (Roxy) went on to pay in Vixen, while it's her sister Maxine on guitar

I had forgotten how good Stryper were musically
It sounds like good prog rock of it's day not unlike Queensryche or Fates Warning , but I just got irritated with the overblown "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" angle they had.

With regular lyrics they may not have had as much attention as they got but more fans may have stuck with them musically

There was another good Christian metal band, Whitecross.  They didn't have Stryper's looks   , but they had a terrific VH-ish guitarist called Rex Carroll.

I had that Britny Fox album on cassette - we all have our skeletons

The trick is realising what was cr@p and what still stands up after all these years...

Satriani's stuff has dated REALLY bad imo, whereas Vai's stuff still sounds really fresh.

AC/DC records still kick arse whereas Saxon sound like a Spinal Tap tribute band.

The vocalists of Cinderella and Britny Fox sound exactly the same. And for neither of them is it a good thing.

Such a shame, becuase I love glam. And their solos are great.

It's probably a long shot, but did anyone ever check out James Labrie's old band Winter Rose? That's good glam right there.

I think Cinderella were undoubtedly the better band, but they went downhill fast after the first album - started taking themselves too seriously.  Long Cold Winter bores me to tears, it only has 2 or 3 good tracks (worth buying just for "Bad Seamstress Blues/Fallin' Apart At The Seams", though - awesome song).  Oh, and I think Tom Kiefer has a great voice.

Whereas Britny Fox were sort of average, but they maintained their standards of average-ness.

(To use a slasher movie analogy, Cinderella were the Halloween series and Britny Fox were Friday the 13th.   )

slightly disagree. Yes, Long Cold Winter is a bit rubbish, but Heartbreak Station is good and Still Climbing is brilliant!  i love that album, totally different from Night Songs, but fantastic.  in fact Night Songs and Still Climbing are two of my all time favourite albums.

:D Yep Saxons lyrics were & are simply Spinal Tap`ish, but there music certainly wasn`t. Strong Arm Of The Law has some of the best most accessable Metal guitar riffs you`ll ever hear. One of the finest Metal albums ever recorded imho.

Harry Shearer went on tour with Saxon for a while to learn the moves, so yes they're certainly an influence on the film.  I think the comic interplay between Nigel & David is based on Status Quo.

I actually liked some of Cinderella's stuff - Gypsy Road was a good song and the Heartbreak Station record had some crackin songs (saw them on that tour).  Never heard the album they did after that but I'm assuming they moved further into that Stones direction (???)
