Iv got an Ibanez RG2550 and I'm after a new pickup to give it more kick.
After listening to a whole load of sound clips, iv taken to both the Rebel Yell and the Nailbomb.
I loved the sound of the Rebell Yell on S.S' sound clip, but is this a pickup more for les paul styled guitars?
What would you guys recommend for Bridge and Neck pickups?
Keeping in mind that I want a clean/warm professional tone that isnt too distorted.
(I would be more than happy if I could get a sound like what is found on the Rebel Yell sound clip.)
I play a lot of instrumental progressive stuff, John Petrucci and the likes.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Well, Steve Stevens uses mainly Les Pauls so I guess the answer to that question is "yes" (I don't own an RY & have only tried it in LPs).
But a Nailbomb bridge would get you pretty close & works really well in Ibanez guitars - it's a very versatile pickup (there aren't many "which bridge humbucker for..." questions to which Nailbomb doesn't provide a viable answer :)) & like the RY clip it also has that really percussive, open kinda feel to it.
For the neck, Cold Sweat would be a great choice - it's a fantastic match for any of the hotter BKP bridge models. As has been posted (or rather linked) in your other thread - RY & CS necks are quite similar. I'm guessing that either RY or CS necks would work with NB bridge in an Ibanez.

Hi,
I have two jackson Usa nechthrus and in my RR1 Tim recomended the Nailbomb. I have read that the Ibanez guitars are good match for Nailbombs...but ask Tim. Nailbomb sounds so good you can't go wrong with it siince you are after the ....not over the to gainy pickup. The cleans are fantastic on the nailbomb , a very versatile pickup!
