Title: stupid amp power conversion question

I'm looking to get this metamp kit JTM45 kit (http://"http://store.metroamp.com/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=331&osCsid=r24p8u0ftlcmbp408madh3jli5") & using Martin @ Martamp to put it together for me (I'm not that brave just yet!), I'm gonna upgrade it to the mercury magnetics & sozo upgrades, but I've heard a nasty rumour that the sound changes when you change voltage. Is that true? I know that I read about Joe Bonamassa not being able to bring his amps across to europe because of this problem, but would it effect the tone that much?

Perhaps I can help with this.
The short answer is no, the sound won't change.
The mains transformer provides the same voltage for the amps circuits for either the US 110-120V or our 230-240V, provided obviously that the builder connects the mains power socket to the correct winding.
The amp doesn't know that it is connected up to UK voltage and not US.

There are some fairly sizeable fluctuations in mains voltage within both countries, however in my experience, the resulting change in B+ to the amp causes no audible change in the amp's tone.
