His simply amazing cover of Africa by Toto. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=dt1fB62cGbo)

The first song of his I heard about a year ago, called Drifting. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4)

My personal favourite, Rylynn. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=JsD6uEZsIsU)

When he's augmenting all strings he uses a G 7th.

Now this is proper slapping and tapping

still makes me smile seeing this having first seen Preston Reed at the london guitar show back in 1998.

That's nice and all... but Andy McKee's not about slapping! He's just mixing the percussive sound.

I only had a chance to listen to the Africa cover and found it odd that he did use percussive elements and then stopped for the verse...just listened again and it still sounds odd to me...reminds me of when the reverb is taken off of the main guitar after the intro in 'money for nothing'...suddenly sounds a little empty, but maybe a few more listens and it will blend better...cant fault his playing of course.

I tried to learn rylynn a while ago but it's a bitch to play and the tuning (ECDGAD) was doing my head in. Incredible musician, has an amazing ability to capture a really specific feeling with just a lone six string. Plus he's a 'tallica/pantera fan...

I think Michael Hedges is probably the father of this kind of playing. Another sad loss from the world of guitar. Kaki King is pretty cool and theres a new guy on Cornford records along with guthrie that plays in truly annoying time signatures :D
