Title: Wiring a 2x12
Post by: Elliot on November 10, 2007, 06:24:55 PM
Just to check - I am wiring a 2x12 in parallel

do I attached one speakers + and - to the other speaker and then wire that speaker to the jack

Speaker 1            Speaker 2
+.......................+.......................Jack +

_ ........................-.......................Jack -

or do I wire both to the jack individually?

As in

Speaker 1
+...........................Jack +

_ ..........................Jack -

Speaker 2
+ ...........................Jack +

_ ..........................Jack -

This site helped me wire up my 2x12 - http://www.usspeaker.com/speaker%20wiring-1.htm

I did it in series but maybe the parallel one will be of some use to you as well?

If on the second 'diagram', the jacks are the same one, and you're just taking two leads from each side of the same jack, then they are actually the same thing :) Both of those will leave you with parallel wired speakers :)
