Hi,
My Version of For the love of God, on my MIM Candy Apple Red Strat with Apaches. Through Line 6 Spider valve into Zoom CD16, Coverted to Mp3 with Audacity, No Processing. It Has come out a bit bright you might want to apply some treble cut and bass boost. Please remember I am only 14 and will have been playing for a year next week

I like it :)
its a nice tone.
am i right in thinking vai would have done this on humbuckers?
you're very good for 14 and with only a year of practising. keep up the good work klone
ahhh i can't wait to record something when my bkp's arrive!
EDIT: where's the backing track from?
-
VERY good playing; extremely impressive considering how long you've been playing especially!
Very nice tone, but I think you're slightly out of tune with the back track.
-
Thats a nice sound. does seem slightly out of tune.
I wouldn't have the patience to learn that song lol
-
The vibe is spot on, very impressive considering you've only been playing a year. Give it another year and you'll be ripping that tune to bits.
-
Unfortunately, yea it's slightly out of tune. That's because I had played the track about 5 times before recording, and I hadn't bothered to fine tune the guitar. My fingers were shredded by the end of it, but some things are worth it
@waves: Yea, Steve Vai played this on a JEM7VWH, a guitar with 2 humbuckers and a single coil. He was using the humbucker in the bridge.

Good playing and great recorded tone. For a guy only playing a year its excellent, keep going.
-
Ah it's you again, well done, nice and fluid.
You seem to enjoy that Spider Valve and getting some great tones out of your Apaches, congrats!
Found that teacher to turbo-charge your development as an already great player yet?
-
Yep, I have indeed. A local guy, focusing on rhythm playing more than anything else just now
-
You're very good for your age, just keep practicing hard and you have potential to become a virtuoso, you are only 14, my advice is to not give up now, just keep going and maybe start/join a band. Remember nomatter what anyone tells you, humans are the only species on earth with infinite potential!

Great stuff. I played 10 years before I realised that my rhythm playing is bad and I refocused.
The earlier you build that foundation, the better. Remember, many of our idols are awesome rhythm players, like Jimmy Page, James Hetfield, Angus, etc...

Way to go man!
I have played mostly rythm my entire life since i love to write songs, and still do. When you get all the scales down you will get a feel for chord alterations which really opens a world with endless possibilities, and will enable you to express so much more trough your music. It all might be confusing at first but hey, thats what a jumpstart will get you i suppose.
Maybe ill get a few lessons again myself, i seem to have forgotten so much in the couple of years i could not play due to working 100+ hours a week.
Enjoy this time, be thankfull for the opportunity you have.
Greetings, Henk

@JJretroTONEGOD: Infinite potential is right ^__^ We're the only ones that have useable thumbs!!
@Hunter: Steve Vai learned from Joe Satriani, so it's easy to see where HE got his rythmic mastery!!
@Henk: You never stop learning, and lessons are ALWAYS the way to go. However old you are, they will help, no matter what.

Dude! Surely the syrian hamster also has infinite potential!??!
-
If the syrian hamster can play guitar, then get me one so we can duel XD

Indeed, do you believe in re-incarnation?

Ahem... we are not the only members of the primate family
pretty good, but i supposed i have a bias toward hunter's version. Wish i were this accomplished...

Everyones version is different. Mine is different eveytime I play. This was a rubbish version.
