i need new springs (as mine are mismatched and i'd like 3 brand new ones. preferably a bit stiffer than the normal ones)
and fine tuners as my old ones were worn down.
i finally came to a bit of disposable income and i want to fix my schaller ASAP.
if someone could direct me to a reliable webstore that carries replacement parts (original ones if possible) i'd be grateful
Jonathan, do you have replacement parts for floyds on hand? seeing that you guys have a floyd dealership now.
-
Yes - we have a selection of springs
I personally prefer the original Schaller made ones but they are a bit flexible
The Gotoh ones are stiffer and can work well if you are using a heavier gauge of string
As far as needing to get the fine tuners, I will check but you may need to get a whole new baseplate.
There is a bit of a problem of late getting Schaller stuff but I can take a look in the spares box when i am back in the workshop proper...
I am hoping in time to get more and more Floyd parts and accessories as there doesn't seem to be a single reliable source you can go to, and I think that many players would benefit from an expert supplier.
I am setting up a dedicated offshoot website from the main Feline site, just for Floyd Rose -
It will be for both sales, spares and accessories, and a resource of information and templates etc
I am indebted to young Afghan for his help so far with this and will keep you posted as soon as he and I get the site up and running.

i'll give you a call tomorrow afternoon.

It's a bit off-topic, but what's going on with Schaller? The last couple(?) of years it's been much harder to find their parts for sale, and apparently Fender are now getting tuners from Ping (the "F" logo locking ones, at least) - although that may just be cost-cutting.

Schaller have been in real trouble for a while
Basically there were a couple of deaths in the family which kind of blew the company apart.
It has been very hard for them to get their act together and I feel that they have concentrated mainly on their major contracts for big makers such as Vigier, Fender, Floyd rose etc rather than stuff for retail sale.
Also affected by a similar family tragedy is another German company called ABM which has completely shut the company down (for now anyway)

Oh yes, I remember ABM - I've got one of their old catalogues somewhere, but never bought any parts.
Sad, I hope both companies manage to sort themselves out. Unusual for big(ish) companies to be so affected by individual deaths and tragedies - but perhaps it's the way German businesses are traditionally run.

that does indeed suck. terrible shame. i hope they pull through.
i really need those fine tuners. my trem is blocked for months now :?
i hope that the floyd ones fit on the schaller and that i dont need a new baseplate..

They were both family run businesses and the death of both brothers (or father and son in the case of ABM) did indeed affect the company seriously.
