Hi guys,
I'm new here, and also new in these pickups.
I've read many good things about thesep pickups, but I have never have the oportunity to hear them in person, so that is why I need your advise.
I'm searching for 2 pickups (bridge and neck), humbuckers, to put them in a CAPARISON angelus, the new version.
What I'm looking for is something near the EMG 81-60 set ... talking about aggresive, good for metal riffs, BUT with more clarity, better for solos, and with a better melodic response...
I dont know if that is possible, or if these pickups would have a good model for this stuff, but I'd would love to hear your thguohts.
Just you to make an idea... I'm playing Melodic Metal, from Dream Theater to IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, DARK TRANQUILLITY... so that is why the pickups must be AGRESSIVE LIKE HELL, but great in melodies as well...
Any idea ??? or shuold simply talk to Santa for a miracle ?
THANKS !!!

I've got a Caparison, the TAT neck-thru model, and i've got a Warpig in the bridge position and that sounds awesome.
Your Caparison is all mahogany with a maple top (more or less same construction as a Les Paul)as opposed to mine having an alder body and maple neck.
I still reckon the Warpig would suit your guitar well for the sounds you're after and the Nailbomb or Painkiller would be worth considering too.
If you search around the forum there are lots of soundclips of all the different pickups.
What colour is your Angelus by the way ?

For the kind of speed and precision you require, I would advise the Miracle Man set.
And welcome!

+1
basically an EMG 81 but tighter and clearer.
Btw, love your selection of bands - the last 3 just happen to be 3 of my fave bands ;)

Thanks for your answer....
I forgot to tell the rest of my equipment, so you can make an idea about the sound...
Diezel Herbert head with Diezel frontloaded 4x12" cel. v30.
Also, I tune all my guitars to open C and drop A# (so our sounds have many bass by itself, so it must has a nice response to the bass)
Abuot the caparison, is a pro trans black.
Well, once again, thanks for the advises and I'd love to hear more advises, and also, if possible, the differences between them.
Thanks
Ben.

I have a miracle man in the bidge position of my Ibanez (check sig for music), and I play downtuned stuff: A-E-A-D-F#-B. It handles the bass exceptionally well :)
You won't be disappointed!

PS but the best advice is: ask Tim! He knows far more about his pickups than the rest of us here on the forums!

81 - 60 set as BKs?
C-pig, cold sweat.
I very much doubt anything short of a pig would satisfy in the gain department if youre looking for 81 levels, and while these BKs dont sound very much like the 81 or 60, they give a similar combination of 'Utterly brutal bridge pickup and neck for cleans and shred' for modern metal requirements, but with their own sounds.

Thanks for the advises...
Well, that 81-60 is a reference of what I have at the moment, BUT I dont like at all... ok they are really nice distorsion, but doesnt make me fall in love... and also, very bad for solos and clean channel.
I'm searching for more.. more than emg... need a great punch but also clearer than emg (which get lost in the road, dont know if I explain it :D).
Thanks again, I've emailed Tim... so let's see what he says :D

If you want to wait until January, i may be getting a warpig, miracle man, painkiller
. all of them bridge positions
i own 3 6 string guitars in different tunings(D, C, and D) and one 7 string.
iŽll not mess with the 7 string, until i get completely used(or not) to it.
but iŽll put the pickups on the guitars and swap them to see which one iŽl Like more.
and iŽll do some soundclips
i have some nailbomb clips out there
check my band
www.myspace.com/thyresis
Charvel fusion deluxe, 012, tuned to D standard.
Nailbomb-sinner custom wound neck(sold this sinner)
pod 2.0 for that recording
but i own a peavey 5150 head and a marshall 1960 cabinet.
hope it helps
add me on msn if you need more clips with the 5150

An Angelus fitted with Bareknuckles through a Diezel Herbert.........................Heaven!!!!!!!
I really would like to get a Diezel VH4 myself when i get enough cash together. They're awesome amps!
I think the pro trans black is the nicest finish on the Angelus too.
My Caparison TAT is in the Red Sunset finish which they did as a limited edition back in the '90s along with the Iceberg finish.

i would personally say miracle man set for the styles that you are wanting

Which BKP would be sort of like a slightly smoother, more organic Dimarzio Super Distortion-PK? CS? Ceramic Holy Diver, maybe? There's almost too many choices.

I just put a custom Warpig set in my Caparison Angelus today and it sounds amazing. I also have a Warpig in my Caparison Dellinger. Should also note that I mostly play melodic death metal  Definitely worth considering the Warpigs!
