Has anyone tried these? I think it would be much more usefull than having this stupid tone knob.

isn't that what slow hands are meant to emulate? (think clapton and townshend use some sort of mid booster on their strats)

I have no idea. I was about to get one of those, so I wonder if anyone had any experience?

Yeah, the Clapton Strat has a built-in mid boost... and Pete Townsend uses Clapton Signature Strats.

The SPC is a very useful little mid boost and pretty easy to fit
At one time they made a big thing about it being made to be used with active pickups but it seems to work great with regular strat pickups
The RPC and EXG are a bit more specialised - the SPC seems to be the best value on a strat....the RPC can be fun on a humbucker guitar though - like a treble boost

So this RPC would do very well for clean parts, right?

I had an EXG a long, long time ago. It boosts the bass and treble and scoops the mids. I can't really recall what it sounded like, but I remember I preferred it for clean, low-volume sounds - I think it made the guitar sound a bit like an acoustic (probably not what it was intended for).
I've got a Clapton mid-boost circuit somewhere, but haven't used it because I'm a bit reluctant to rout my Strat for the battery compartment.
