Title: Sending stuff to the USA-advice please
Post by: 38thBeatle on December 03, 2007, 12:47:36 PM
I have a moderately important package( a small box weighing approx 300g ) that I need to send to a mate in the USA. Which company would you use? I have heard horror stories about many companies-should I  use the post office in town or UPS who have a shop in town? I am happy to pay extra to ensure it gets to him quickly and safely. Cheers

I would use UPS as you can track it.  I am having a terrible time tracking a vintage guitar that I sent to the UK via the post office.

I would use anyone but UPS - never had anything but problems with them.  Recently took them four attempts to deliver a parcel when I was in the house and off all week waiting in for them (you might say I wasn't impressed).

Parcel2Go are as good as anyone, they subcontract out to DHL and are cheap.

Royal Mail are spot on too, never had a problem.

Virgin Upper Class - you can't beat it and you might get a great guitar for a steal while you are there!!

:-)

Seriously - I've also used Parcel2Go (=DHL) and had no problems at all - and the price was pretty good too.
