cut down on the reverb for a start.
I can't actually properly hear what you were going for there as the sound just got lost in the washout.

Other thing would be to name the sort of sound you're actually after.

im going for a kirk hammet slow solo type tone but im now going more towards a necrodphagist lead tone.

ill cut back the reverb and see how it sounds

yeah me too actually, couldn't really listen to it all that well though, as media center kept skipping :? but the reverb sounded spot on!

what's the best way to get the necrodphagist lead tone? I don't like their music but I do love his lead tone

Just my 2 cents worth, but i would say reverb is fine...but you have a slapback delay panned hard right that does throw the sound a bit, either speed the delay up to just a few miliseconds for thickening, or lengthen it (usually to be in tempo with the song).

Liked the tone and the feel you were getting there fella :)

cheers :D

i dont normally get any comments on my feel.

I actually thought i played it pretty bad.

and ive found the best thing for a necrophagist lead tone is a low output neck pickup with some chorus and delay.

just mess around. Oh yeah a compressor would be good as his tone is quite even

I know it's engl and ibanez guitars, I've no idea what pickup though, or the best EQ settings for lead tones, I tend to just stick mids on full and turn the treble and bass down a bit

I always use the neck pickup for leads too, I've never thought of using chorus for lead tones, I'll have a fiddle with it later, I usually tend to use chorus for cleans

hate to be picky but it sounds like delay, not reverb, it's more like a slapback, vintage like echo, and there probably is a tiny amount too much, but i still like the sound of it, it's not like there is too much in the mix.
