i played that last year at LGS, liked the neck a lot. but i'd sand the finish down to the wood. felt like plastic. cool geetar othervise. with some bkps it slays
-
Very nice.
Is that finish an H.R Giger rendering?
-
^Yup!
Hence "HRG" in the model name. :)
-
Ah .. erm ... I knew that of course
:D

I have to admit liking the Geiger series but the one I wanted was the S Series version
Nice catch, I hope it feels as nice as it sounds
http://www.ibanez.com/eg/hrgiger/hr_giger_s.aspx, unfortunitely @ 3 Grand it was a no go

That looks awesome! :P
But I must inform you that GAS isn't a temporary ailment, it is a chronic, genetic illness - an instability, if you will - of the mind.
The only known cure for this is main-lining heroin... but that's only cuz you GAS for something else instead of guitar gear :(
-
Looking good JT but I bet it won't be the last guitar you buy.
-
yeah its nice - but it shoudl really be iceman shaped
-
Nice buy jt!
What pups do you have planned for it?
Did you pimp the mij LP?
-
Ibanez RGs and Nailbombs were made for each other :D

Former BKP employee Steve (Mr Pig to you) had one of those loaded with distressed Warpigs. Awesome looking guitar, that was. The pickups realy added to the Giger look.
-
^Yep, I remember playing that one at music live a few years ago! Cant say I really liked the neck though, a bit too wide and flat for me, but it looks really good.
-
:D Havn`t decided what P/U`s to put in it yet, i`m thinking Mule bridge with maybe a Cold Swear Neck ? As for the MIJ it`ll have my original Cold Sweats in it & "The Preacher" has just had the Trem F**k up so it needs to be looked at as well

I had one of those a year or so ago. I had a miracle man in the bridge and it was the dogs nads, I liked the neck pickup I think for a stock pickup it was quite good you could get some nice lead and clean tones out of it especially when its in parallel Just never really got on with trems so I sold it and got my ESP EC-1000. Kinda miss it tho. It was an awesome guitar.

:D Yer i no what you mean. I had a RG470 a few years ago, i loved playing it but every time i broke a string it was a nightmare to re string & tune. This guitar is fitted with a Edge pro 2 system so you dont have to cut the ball ends off of the strings, making it quicker to restring. I love the neck. It ha s a great carve to it & i have to say i really like the stock pups. [ gulp ] The infinity pups are better than the V7/V8`s from the other RG models, but i was playing my custom build [ The Preacher ] & i thought how good the Mules are as a P/U. They sound so good even with serious amounts of high gain sounds, hence my thoughts on getting another Mule bridge for this one.
