Sure this question has been covered a hundred times on this board but I'll ask anyway.
Basically I need some new pick ups to replace the absolute, awfully cr@p one's that are standard on my Yamaha sg2000s (what the f**k were they thinking). The thing is the pick ups are tapped.
I'm not really savvy with wiring and the tech side of pickups and obviously don't want to buy a pair and then find I can't use the coiltap pots on the guitar.
I've noticed there are different options on the BK pickups.
At the risk of sounding thick. Would I get away with buying a standard set or should I be looking at other options?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers and thanks: Alan C.

you have the option of getting 4-conductor or 2 conductor when you order the pickups. 4 conductor has extra wires that allow coil tapping

Thanks Wez. Had a feeling that may have been the option I should have been looking at.
Btw. Does that apply to just BK pickups or is that pretty much the same with all the better spec pickups? Sorts of keeping my options open at the moment.
The pickups on the Yam have got to go though. They're Dire.
Thanks again: Al.

most humbuckers come with 4 conductor now unless they specifically state 'braided' or anything else like that
