It's down to:
Ceramic Warpigs, Cold Sweats, Painkillers and Crawlers
Now, I know Warpigs clean up brilliantly, but how do the others clean up?
-
i don't know about the others, but the crawlers clean up REALLY great.
I stopped using my clean channel now, cause i only use the twin volume knobs on my les paul to achieve clean sounds on the lead channel, that how geat they clean up! Lower the neck pup volume to about 6 and lower a tad your picking dynamic and the sound is clean and clear, no mush.
Plus the split sounds are really nice, thinning up things really nicely, if it's what you'er after from a clean sound...
Since i got my crawlers, i haven't plugged my footswitch, period.

I just got a set of Emeralds for my Les Paul and I'm sorry to add to your choice problem but ... they clean up very nicely - particularly the neck pup.
It can go from dirty at full volume to a clean, bluesy sound - when taken down to between 2 to 5 on the volume.
I'm working on getting some clips up soon. I'll try and demonstrate this when I do.

Sorry, I should have said that. I've got a set of them...

Crawlers have a very nice full sounding clean. The neck position has a little jazz thing going but the middle position is awesome on a clean setting.
-
Yeah, the AIV / AV combination -beloved by Tim and Philly  - is indeed a winner when it comes to clean settings...
-
Personally, I would stick some mules in to a LP.
But, from your point of view why not try the Crawlers or perhaps RYs?
-
So, It's going to be...
Les Paul: Painkillers
Les Paul DC: Crawlers
or the other way round...
And then, that's all my guitars BKP'd :)
