Whoever ends up the 'lucky' bidder is going to be SO pissed off...

That verges on fraud; if that is the actual charge for postage the seller ought to be prosecuted and the buyer given a hard slap for being so stupid.

i could be wrong, but could they have just listed it with postage to get people with filters to see it, but then make it ridiculous so you would HAVE to pick it up?

hmm, it says pick up only, maybe thats just as a deterrant so people won't think it will be posted.
and the seller can't understand how to list as collection only I presume

In my experience, when you list something as "collection only" people still contact you to ask if you'll post it - and not only to the UK.  :roll:

He's said "Collection in person preferred. Courier collection possible but this is at the buyers cost, arrangement and risk", so he's not offering to arrange postage under any circumstances.

I think the £1,000,000 is just, as Will says, a deterrent.
