i have a set of warpigs in my les paul voodoo, and i am thinking of putting them into my PRS custom 24 as i am not really digging the stock pups at the moment, however i am unsure whether the pigs would be too dark?
I am looking to get some versatility in sound, a bit of heavy like opeth, mastadon, spiritual beggers, old school thrash and mellow/rocky/bluesy as well. So if the warpigs aren't the answer which way should i head?
I am using a laney TT100 amp pretty much just straight in no effects aside from the occasional wah noodling and a mi audio tube zone
any advice/comments would be great
cheers

I sick of hearing this crack about pigs being dark!
Pigs are very ballanced in the highs and high mids. Ceramic pigs positively scream
They do a superb mastodon. Nail it, in fact, especially Remission tone.
Though all told I think you'd be happier with nailbombs.

Thanks, dont get me wrong I wasn't criticizing the warpigs i actually love them in my les paul which is swamp ash, i was probably just a bit clumsy in my question.
my main worry was would they be to agressive to put in PRS which is mahogany, not sure if this explains i any better, as i am pretty much out of my depth with effects on sound with different woods, bridges etc, and if i decide to put them in I would have to send the neck to Tim to flip the magnet, and coming from Australia its a long way to go.
cheers

Warpigs have more than enough power to cut through in mahogany. You wanna be worried if youre going for medium power pickups in mahogany: tha can sound muddy. Low is fine, high is fine, medium is risky. Lots of people round here have them in les pauls, tims got some in a V and they're very popular in SGs
Didnt mean to sound too irritable there, sorry. Its just a recurring theme on the boards these last few weeks/couple of months that the warpigs are dark. They arent. It started life as relative statement compared to painkillers and miracle men. They arent dark. Just not as bright as some bks.

cool, thanks for your help, was actually considering getting some nailbombs for the bridge as you recommended earlier, not too sure about the neck pickup yet though.

Are warpigs darker than the Miracle Man?

Are warpigs darker than the Miracle Man?
not really
but that depends on the guitar and woods
the miracle man tends to potentialize the guitars strongest frequency extremities
