Title: Facelift covers for Fender Telecasters.
Post by: Scotty477 on December 13, 2007, 11:31:06 PM
Has anyone seen or tried one of these Tele 'facelift' covers yet?

They look .... well kind of OTT but if they float your boat, they may be what your looking for.

This isn't my auction btw. I just thought they looked quite radical.

+1

It'd be ok if they made them look like good finishes, but they're all cr@p designs that no one (with any sense of taste) would want to use.

I can dig something really flash like a leopard print detail on a guitar... if you're in a glam rock band... but at least do it properly and have it sprayed and not just stick a ruddy great sticker on the front!

i dont think us people who will happily spend BKP prices for guitar parts are the target market for the facelift stickers anyway are we...its just something for the young kids that want to tart up their first guitar!!!

If I was in the mood for a temporary "facelift", I think I'd go for a novelty scratchplate rather than some dodgy piece of clingfilm stuck over the rest of the guitar.

Remember Yamaha did something similar - a clear scratchplate over the whole front of the guitar, that you could put paper designs under.

That was done by my friend Nick Smith - good airbrush work!
Actually - that is one of the guitars in the sale list
£849 (incl Hiscox case)
It's got a Miracle man and 2 Trilogies as well as an original Floyd

He does damn fine work! You should try to work that guitar into the hands of Phil Collen, that is SO him.
