Title: anyone own a FISHMAN acoustic pickup?
Post by: JJretroTONEGOD on December 19, 2007, 02:19:00 AM
I've decided the thing I need the most right now is a good acoustic guitar pickup, so I've orderd the Fishman NEO D Humbucker pickup, it should be here soon, have any of you had any experience with fishman pickups?

I'm doing loads of acoustic gigs at the moment, so it's kind of my main present for christmas 2007.

I have had a few fishy's....its hard to find an acoustic pup that I like-seems like every time you plug in an acoustic, the dynamics change sooo much..I am not familiar with that particular model, but I have had good experiences with the others I have owned-I have an LR BAggs Dual Source which is a cut above-anything that uses transducer and mic I think gives better live tone-best of luck!

me too! I'm glad you are saying good things about fishman pickups, everywhere I've looked they get 9 or 10 out of 10 in reviews, merry christmas!

Humbucker in an acoustic? Think Tim could re-wind it to Warpig specs?

I believe mine was the Fishman II (active) pickup and I loved it. Received a lot of compliments for the guitar's tone at open mic nights from novices to guys who gigged multiple nights a week. I had it in a Taylor acoustic.

I got the humbucker model just because I hate hum so much. I'd love Tim to mod it, should be fun trying it with a fuzz octave and amps, for really weird sounds.

this is a passive pickup, I'll be using it with my LAG 300D, I might post a chirstmas song or two on here just for fun.

I've got a B-Band dual source set-up in my Larrivee.  For live work though my PA it sounds amazing, but the other Larivee I tried before I brought my LV-19E had the Fshman blender on board which was awesome.  The only thing I didn't like was the size of the EQ sticking out of the side of the body.........the B-Band and the LR Baggs are both smaller, less conspicuous units.

Have epm quantum 2 undersaddle and mic blender thing is awsome, but in last guitar had the neo d and later the rare earth.....the single in the accoustic sounded better more accoustic than the humbucker...but the humbucker was far less noise
