I'm sorry, but that was so ironic it coulda been on the Simpsons. One of the biggest homophobic jerks doing a duet with Elton John ... in a Freddie Mercury tribute! Just reeks of photo op ...
May's guitar sounded very thin and washed out there, too.
Love the song, hate the tribute.

I agree with TO on that, especially Metallica turning up to a Queen thing. When watching the Metallica clips, I couldn't help wondering what the audience were thinking, they won't have been metallers really would they?
-
This DVD is well worth checking out - fab insight into an all time great album and band

I don't know - many long term Queen fans are no strangers to heavy metal
Queen used to excell at it - and Freddie could really sing (unlike many metal vocalists)
This song from Queen II : Ogre Battle

Just to clarify --
I'm not knocking Queen, just the necrophilia that goes on in someone's name to boost ones own career (You hear me, Randall and Zakk?????).
-
Extreme were the best group there, their Queen medly was fantastic, and Gary Cheron is the only peron who could make a decent replacement for Freddie, he was superb, and their vocal harmonies live are outstanding.

When I first watched that concert live on tv I thought Axl Rose was the coolest thing ever, but I was 16 then.
Now I think he is a homophibic, sexist, racist washout.
How times change

That honour of the night goes to George Michael when he did 'Somebody To Love' imo.
I need to dig out this DVD and re-watch it now

Freddie Mercury was a Genius, regardless of sexuality. I've never quite got axl rose though? He looks like a RAT in the video. lol
