Wayne Rock Legend.

Or, I would build 3 Warmoth super strats.

This is a difficult one...

Personally, I'd most likely buy an ESP Eclipse, one of the vintage colour schemes, played one recently - It was so brilliant, it even almost outplayed  my viper...

Other than that, a Vigier Excalibur, or an ESP Horizon NT, they are truly brilliant guitars.

And yes, I do know there are 2 ESPs in this, and that I own one, but I'm not a fanboy, I just think they have some of the best necks, and smoothest fingerboards of any guitars.

I'd be tempted to get a PRS Mira - that guitar is really growing on me (looks-wise, I haven't actually tried one).

Gibson Les Paul Standard ~ $2,300
I actually own a Classic but don't really like the pickups.  Chose a Classic because it was before Gibson revamped the Standard, which back then had plain tops and chrome hardware.  Now they have nickel hardware, decent pickups and flame tops.

Fender American Vintage Hot Rod 57 / 62 ~ $1,600
From the examples I've played, it's not worth spending the extra on a Custom Shop guitar if you're just looking for a "player".  But then I'm perfectly happy with my Jap Reissue Strat w/ upgraded pickups. :P

$2,500 would also get you a nice PRS Standard or Custom 22/24, an ESP Eclipse, an Ibanez JS1000 or JEM..

So pretty much a decent model of any brand guitar for any style really.  But I love Les Pauls and singlecuts in general.

Right now, I'd have to go for a PRS SC250 or a PRS Mark Tremonti.

For me it'd be an all mahogany black Les Paul Custom from one of the Japanese makers - Tokai, Burny, Greco etc.

Dunno how much those Blackmachine guitars cost, but can't be much more than $2500... so I'd totally hit one of those   :P

Buy a neck off soulmate and fit it to a reasonably priced LPDC of some brand.

Or a Carvin CS3 + V220, add BKPs.
