Hi everyone!

Today I received my Holy Diver! Yay!
The package is top notch and the pickup is really amazing quality wise.

It is really very solid (actually it's my first covered pickup - black cover :twisted: ).

I just wanted to ask why the serial number is RY108? Wouldn't this mean a Rebel Yell?

Actually the box and papers say Holy Diver 15.6K (wound to compensate with the cover I guess), Alnico 5 and Rebel Yell is 14.4K.

I'm going to order some trilogies later on.:)

Yea, the serial numbers always have the letters of the pickup, then a number. Like MQ108, NB111, etc.

If it says RY108 on yours, then it's very possible that they tossed the wrong pup in to your box.

Take pics of it and send them to Tim and see what he says about it.

But, it has a black cover and everything I ordered.....plus the DC Res. Anyway I'll ask Tim then.

Ah yes, it must be another pickup as I ordered 2-condictors and this has 4. Lets see.

But whatever you do, either is worth the money. I would return it.

LoL, yeah I saw that too. But I'll return it as I want the Diver. I'm just waiting Tim's response, just to be sure.

i believe the holy diver is an overwound rebel yell, as the rebel yell would be the alnico diver if steve stevens didn't pick it for him
the extra turns would explain the extra output, low end and loss of brightness
but they still sound like family :D

(just a personal hypothesis)

Yeah I thought that too. Thanks Eric. I've heard that they are both alike to some point hence the typo or the use of that serial number (just a thought ;)).
