OMG, the human Nintendo is born :(
-
Why is it that all shredders like him have the same, awful tone?
The first video is great, seen it before and its always a laugh :D
-
yeah i know the recording is horrible but I'm just wondering if he's really playing that fast...
apparently he has music out on his site but i havn't checked it, i just assumed that the video is purely to show off speed that's why the tone is so bad... or something.
-
Shredding at this level, is just awful.
I'm a shred fan. but this is completely tasteless =/
This is 100% ego...
-
If you phone a fax machine number you get a similar result to the second clip ... except the fax has a better tone
Seriously though ... That was technically amazing but pure cr@p at the same time.
-
I like shredding, in context or good compositions, but that second one just sounds like hes repeating over and over
"I have a tiny dick"
He says it at least once per bar.

hmmm... I'm pretty sure I heard an "I have no friends" in there as well.

That is strange... seems to me that it could be for real, seen as how his fingers moved did fit with the sound coming through it. But the guy in the end should indicate that it's a joke. At least I hope so. Not for the unholy guitar abuse, but for the sheer gayness.
If for real, it says "I'm here, I'm queer, and I shred". If it's a joke, it says "people who shred like this are queers". Either way, I don't know what I just saw. :?
-
this one is even more pointless... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28abpbNwZlU&feature=related
to think how much these guys have practiced, only to play stuff that sounds like a Spectrum loading up.

That one is a fake. You can see his whole body move in fast forward when the shred speeds up.
It's very sad. What a loser .... :D
-
^+1. fake.
this guy, on the other hand...

That video where the guy is playing fast forward is absolutely hilarious! I've seen some lame things on the internet in my time but that just about takes the biscuit. What goes through the minds of these guys ey?
-
lmao, "let's hammer it in"
-
wank
-
the guys in the first vid who are taking the piss sound almost identical to the guys being serious!
-

The guy at the end is his twin brother, if you read the text at the side (the fact that they look alike might have been a clue too). They're just mucking about. No gayness or queers involved.
-
:D I think the guy on the 1st vid is actually doing it for real. That's OK to a point. I think if you admit that your just showing off to show the extreme edge of guitar playing BUT make the point that it starts to get unmusical then people will accept it as a pointer to whats possible.
I think this is why certain shred players are successful & others are not. Vai, Satch being the 2 obvious choices. Vai push`s musical barriers [ not always successfully ] to try & express himself, Satch prefers the heads down rock song with some great guitar bits so we can all play "air guitar" along with it. I think this is why Ynwie Malmsteen has been very hit & miss. Obviously a great player just not particularly musical with it. Hence the fact we all now the guy but very few of us actually have any of his music.
You have to try to strike a balance at least imho........

oooohhhhh, so it isn't just me. Always wondered about that
-
Lol, so it's not just me??
I have some of yngwie's CDs but I only bought them to support him outta respect, I don't actually listen to them much, lol.
-
I bought one of his Cd's in the 80's, the one called Odyssey to see what all the fuss was about. We didn't have the benefit of internet downloads back then so buying music could be a hit and miss affair! Anyway the instrumental 'Bite The Bullet', which is around 1:30 long is pretty impressive imho. What got me about it was this incredible bend he does in-between the widdle.

I've got the Alcatrazz stuff and the first four Rising Force albums. Odyssey was a good one, because Yngwie respected Joe Lynn Turner enough to actually let him have some songwriting input.
Haven't heard much of the later stuff - maybe it's amazing, for all I know.

That's the only one I've heard form him. I glaze over after a few minutes of that stuff these days!

^ 'Black Star' from his first album is just amazing, in every guitar respect..... bass & drums? néé, there are machines for that you know...
