Do BKPs, when supplied with a cover, always have black open coils underneath, or might the odd one have a cream coil thingy.

I am pretty certain that you can ask for any combination you like if you are ordering directly.

Uusally we 'll use black coils but occasionally we do use cream and even white.

There is a Duncan custom that I had a cover retrofitted to that will be a real treat for whoever decides to remove the cover.
It has one hot pink coil and one dark blue!!!!!

Actually it was a good sounding pickup- was an OLD one from about 1987, when they were doing stuff the right way.

But I take your point Phil :D

should be  blue and hot pink
