my new toy!
A Hiwatt DR103 100 watt head with a Matamp 4 x 12" with Vintage Celeston speakers...I'm in a very, VERY good mood.

Man it sounds lovely, it's really clean upto high volume and sounds so lovely & deep with the cab. It' even sounds amazing with the Maxon put in front of it and sounds like that lovely break up that is so nice. Just looking for a rotosphere to put in the chain & I'll be in heaven.

VERY nice. Sounds bootiful!
-
Is that a new one or an old one??? What speakers are in the cab? Vintage 30s? Or old Celestions?
And what hapened to the JTM45 you wanted??????
-
WOOOHA, you win the "coolest rig on this forum" award.
NOW we want CLIPS!
Congrats, really, looks like a huge gorgeous tone generating rumble machine!
-
*drools* that looks really nice dude, I'd love to get a Hiwatt, was after the 50w version though. The cab looks great too, bet it sounds awesome :)
-
Hunter, my rig is no way as cool as some other on here (yes Dave I am speaking to you!). Just to give it a tweak I'm going to get a nameplate from Matamp with black on to match the 'white ' cab.
Dave everything was falling into place & then I spoke to Martin, damn he's good. We chatted about amps for a while & then the next day I tried this new Hiwatt, but my god it's beautiful. It really sings but hyper cleanly, then just starts to break up when really pushed. The speakers are the Vintage 30's mate, really bassy (which I like) but still enough to cut through easily.

Nice one HH ! I'd seriously look at getting an attenuator for that baby ! Let it sing at bearable volume. :D
-
Good stuff dude :)
I'll let you hold the coolest rig title on the forum for a little while. Keep it warm for me will you? I'll take it from you in about a month or so ;)
-
VERY NICE score.
The cab is awesome. Where did you pick that up?
-
HH where are dealing the Hiwatts? (used to love my 70's hiwatt50head and 412mcgregor cab.....worst sale I ever made) and if you don't mind how much?
-
Dave thanks for the doffing of the cap, it's very warm here isn't it
Ted I picked it up off a guy that works for Matamp, he's going to be selling them on ebay, he actually makes the cab themselves. I love the look of the White cab & the black head :D

Indeed! Check out my new thread on 'Holy Grail' to see where the cap will be headed........

-
Gotcha!
-
bollocks! Still cost a fair bit..honest
-
Still does look good..would have thought you'd have had more the harry joice hiwatt cab
-
Nice amp HH, glad you got it sorted.
Dave, Dean is our part time wood basher and bought a few cabs from Jeff a while back, to sell on. I remember that one being built. Very striking.
-
Yeah, I remember you mentioning him :)
-
Very Dave Gilmour H.H ! 8)
-
my thoughts exactly FF :)
Forgot to mention that I used it properly last night for the 1st time at practise, the head & cab really compliment each other. Everyone was stunned by it & saying how nice it sounded. I love the fact that even at high volume it still played very cleanly.
