Title: what do people say to: artec effects pedals?
Post by: gwEm on January 22, 2008, 05:51:07 PM

most of my pedals, including my nice modded Boss EQ, are packed away. craving my EQ i checked ebay, and found these guys. doing a quick search here revealed two small positive comments. any other opinions - the combined tuner/eq would appear to be incredibly useful.

certinally rather competiviely priced, which doesn't sound too good i admit. the range is quite interesting though - groove dot matrix tuner, analogue delay and chorus for example. maybe they are naff, but does anyone know for sure?

ok they're of plastic construction according to harmony central reviews... definate alarm bells then - though postive comments regarding sound quality

They are made in korea, cheap, and very good quality. I have one of their wah, true bypass, magnetic pot (unbreakable), a pot to choose the range, very good sounding and costs 65€.
I'm going to buy one of their bass eq + tuner for my bass rig :)

edit: I forgot, those are in metal casing, that HC reviewer sure was on crack or something :)

I don't know their pedals but I have two of their active circuits/EQ's for guitar and they're fantastic.

I own the delay pedal.  I wasn't expecting much when I bought it due to the cheapness, but i've been delighted with it.  It's not plastic, it's a well constructed metal casing with a plastic battery hatch so that you don't have to unscrew the bottom.  If I was being picky then I'd say the footswich could feel a bit more solid but I've not had a problem with it.

The sound quality is the important factor for me though, and it's crystal clear - no problems with white noise.  The delay time isn't as long as a Memory Man but it's a fraction of both the size and cost so isn't going to be.  It's over 400ms though so better than alot of the others out there.

The other pedals on my board are a Teese RMC Picture Wah, D*A*M Drag'N'Fly, HBE Power Screamer and Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe.
