I've just played the MP3 links on the BKP product page for the Geoff Whitehorn PUPs.
My word! They sound absolutely amazing!!!
Anyone got them installed? They truely sound awesome.
Mark.

I do. Yes they're awesome :D 8)
Thing is, their major quality -for me- is that they are so thick, hot, fat and growly, yet so defined and precise... Works Very well for me anyway....
Plus all BKPs common qualities: dynamic, transparent, alive...
They also got this amazing reactivity to volume knobs (they clean up really great) and they split so well.... i'm totally happy with 'em.

I've got a bridge GWC in my hard tail strat - very happy with it, and would pretty much echo everything that Machek said! :)

Yamaha SG400 loaded with Crawlers. The same clips convinced me too. They were the only ones available at that time.

I just love that clean neck clip, wasnt the Crawler neck like an Abraxas neck? At least ive read this somewhere i think.

That's what we thought for a long time, but there was a recent(ish) thread which confirmed that the Crawler neck is actually a little hotter than the Abraxas neck. They're both AIV.
I have the Crawlers too, but I haven't had them long enough to form any strong impressions yet. I must admit they're a bit more aggressive/grunty/snarly than I was expecting, and I do notice a difference between the neck pickup and the Abraxas.

WOW!!! Philly Q, what Les Paul is that? Did the wraparound bridge come as standard?
I've always wanted a Yamaha SG series as well. Nice!

It's an Edwards "copy" of Jeff Beck's old '54 Les Paul. The bridge is a Pigtail, but it originally had an LP Jr style wraparound bridge/tailpiece (which I might go back to, I keep changing my mind).
Glad you like it! :D

Thats a very droolworthy guitar Phil, and for that matter, your discription sounds quite good to me

Ratrod, that SG is beautiful. I'd love one of those...
Failing that I think that I'd settle for a Gibbo SG with Crawlers.

thumb up on the guitar and choice of upgrades. the unusualness of it appeals to me. i suppose i might have fitted double creme VH2s. the black/purple zebra is inspired.

Thanks. Yamaha SG's can be found for very little money. Something like mine can be had for as little as $450.- or thereabouts. Old Gibson quality for Epiphone prices.
And no, I'm not selling mine.

Thanks for the favourable comments, guys! :D
I was originally planning creme/purple zebras. Tim kindly sent me a purple bobbin so I could see what it would look like, and it was too bright somehow, too much creme. But the black/purple looked good against the darker purple body, so I went with that.
I'm still unsure whether to keep the scratchplate or not.
