Herman Li's E-Gen18. (http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eg_page2008.php?area_id=3&data_id=1216&color=CL01&year=2008&cat_id=1&series_id=83)

OH GOD, IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!! I don't *quite* see the point in the grip, it's way more customised than I thought it would be - custom-designed pickups, deeper horn for access, newly designed bridge... but fuuuuuck, fitness deserving of such a player.
AND
Sam Totman's STM1. (http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eg_page2008.php?area_id=3&data_id=1217&color=CL01&year=2008&cat_id=1&series_id=84)

I'm a sucker for Iceman-shapes and this is a fitting modernisation to a classic shape, I like how they've used the "proper" Ibanez headstock instead of the old one though but I'm kinda amazed it's using the Edge III bridge instead of the new one designed for Herman (way more stable, apparently) or the original Edge like on the Vai/Satch sig models.
-
Niiice I'd love an S in the future. The gold hardware looks a little tacky though, cosmo black would have been better imo. Notice the 24frets too there's a few 24 fret S series guitars out this year.
I'm rather excited to see that they are reissueing (properly) the AR300 too! :o I wonder how much that'll cost.
-
Are those top few frets scalloped on the S?
-
I always liked the iceman, but i'm not keen on that model.
-

Yup, "lightly" scalloped from frets 21-24.
-
The first one doesn't do anything for me but at least it doesn't have a Heineken case handle in the body.
The Iceman looks pretyy cool.
-
Apparently, the grip on the upper horn is "Herman's essential feature for his performance on stage" but I can't for the life of me imagine how you'd use that... anyone?! :?

I'd guess it's to grab the guitar by the horn and hold it up to do some segato playing - not unlike Vi and his monkey grip
or to lift up the guitar when he has got his hair caught in the strings
-
WTF is that handle in the upper horn???
-
I don't know who would buy these. Dragonforce is passé, and even if they are good guitars, no one would admit to play a Herman Li signature.
-
To be fair to Herman, he hasn't put his name ANYWHERE on the guitar. I really dislike Dragonforce's music, but looking at it objectively, the E-Gen is a damn nice guitar.
-
Herman's a guitar purist too so you can bet your back teeth it's a nice feel and plays really well.
-

You mean the one you can get now for about £380, or are they re-issuing it with '80s specs like the two mini-switches and proper chunky hardware?
I'm not really an Ibanez fan, but I'd be interested in an '80s-style AR300. Or even better, Rocket Roll.
-
The current AR300 is just boring, the original was way better with the 15-odd possible pickup combinations.

Yup! Made in Japan Prestige.

OMGZ I HATEZ DRAGONFORZE!!!1!!!111!!!1!eleven
On a more serious note, i think it can safely be said that Dragonforce has always been the mallcore of Power Metal. And as has been said before, there would be few musicians that would admit to playing that signature, regardless of whether his Sig is there or not (though i do commend him on not putting it there, however, that retarded grip thing is signature enough).
-
I like the Herman Li model but I wouldn't buy one becasue of the associations.
Same as so many people don't buy Jems becasue of the Vai association, and the fact that they can't / don't play like him.
I however would buy this one http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eg_page2008.php?area_id=3&data_id=1201&color=CL01&year=2008&cat_id=1&series_id=76 or the Artist reissue mentioned earlier.
However I would prefer last yars Giger S Series, Hmmmm it was so nice (and expensive)
-
I think one signature is enough for me, so not gonna think about getting those. However I do love the new S series - S5470! MUST BUY!
And will probbaly build a custom Iceman, cause I dig the shape. :P
-
I'm a big H.R. Giger fan, so no matter how much I hate the RG and S series, I can't help but drool over the Giger print versions. Best looking Ibanadders ever.
-
I was expecting ugly, but they're sweat. I like them both......alot. I'm sure there's space in my house for an iceman

I have noticed in your posts that you hate quite a number of guitars, shapes and models alike... which ones are you specifically enamored towards?
-
When I say "hate" it doesn't mean I want them wiped off the face of the earth, it just means a specific guitar/model/shape isn't doing it for me. Anything that works for you is fine by me.
Except Strats, I hate Strats so #¤£@%'ing much  :x
said tongue-in-cheek of course, don't worry.

HA! Don't worry, i am not offended, i was just curious, because there always seems to be such a negative response on your end to a whole boatload of guitar models. Just curiosity, that's all. I could care less if you hated my favorite guitar (which happens, currently, to be the one i made) or any other guitar for that matter, it just seems that there must be something you love because you are on this silly forum :P
In any case, i must say strats and teles generally look like shitee to me (cept Dakine's tele which is m3ga Br00talz). I do like the look of some superstrats though. However, this Herman Li monstrosity is something of, well, a monstrosity
-
Oh there's a bunch of guitars I love, and that I have expressed my fondness of on this forum. You just have to look harder
-
they don't really look like anything special to me. Li's guitar looks nice, the handle ruins it. How are both of dragonforce's guitarists getting sig guitars though after only coming out with one song so far?
-

I can't tell if you're serious or not(songs sound the same etc.), but they have 3 albums out.

ha, yeah it was a joke. they would probably be the greatest band ever if they knew how to write songs that didn't all sound exactly the same. even all of their lyrics are very similar.

Haha thought so. Even though sarcasm doesn't read very well, I figured you knew better  I agree w/everything being very similar and I kinda like DF. Not that I could sit down and listen to them for hours but it's nice to get a bit of "cheese" in every once in a while.
-
Songs that aren't on TV or spammed everywhere (i.e. Guitar Hero III) are good like Revolution Deathsquad, plus it's such a good song - no one has tabbed it. :(
-
I do really like the Ibanez models but must admit that Dragonforce leave me cold. Sure, they are very gifted guitarists but their music doesn't move me*
*this may be out of jealosuy as I can't, and never will, play anywhere near as fast or accuare as them! :?
-
Actually, I am not sure if I even want to be able to play that fast

Idd.
They are in no way gifted guitarists - They are just guitarists that try to play faster than they can.

da lulz
I ate their soul for breakfast, wasn't very big at all, i could hardly see it
