Title: amp techs - southern England ?
Post by: hamfist on January 25, 2008, 07:54:22 AM
Does anyone know, or can anyone even recommend a good amp tech in southern England. I'm in Southampton, so ideally central southern England.
I don't need amp tech services at the moment but, being the owner of a tube amp, I obviously will at some point.  I'm happy to travel if the person is really good.
  Any ideas ?

Alan

I too live in Southampton, and have used this guy a few times: http://www.stevesamps.co.uk

It's about 30 mins drive away, but he's been excellent whenever I've used him in the past, and has even posted me matched pairs of tubes since the last time he biased my Rivera, to save a re-biasing.

I've used Steve at Steve's amps before too.  He was really helpful (even talked me out of a few unnecessary more expensive things) - highly recommended.
