Title: Cables!

Just a thought/reminder/lesson from experience.

I just replaced my whole cable chain - guitar to FX, patch leads, FX to amp, and amp to speaker cab.

The difference in sound was startling!  Everything was so much clearer, it's just amazing.

So, a word to the wise.  Sometimes an improvement in tone is as simple as a bit of cable...

New same, or new different ones from previous?

New different.

I figured that any weak part in the signal chain would affect the sound, so I went to a shop in Denmark Street on several recommendations (I think it was called THe PA Shop, in a basement next the the Bass Centre), and the fella there made some up for me while I waited.  Good thick cable and Neutrik jacks.

All together they cost me as much as a half decent stompbox, but I think it was worth it.
