Title: Connecting a head to a cab
Post by: Simon D on January 27, 2008, 06:08:52 PM
Apologies in advance for the noob-style question, but what sort of cable do I need to connect a head to a speaker cab?

I'm asking because I've only ever used combos, and my next amp will be a head/cab setup of some kind.
Cheers guys.
Si

I use two core wire of the heaviest guage audio kind.

Before that i used shielded with also thickest grade and the very rigid kind(hard to get), not the flexible(they gave alot of problems). But the two cores kind sound a bit better IMO.

Ive never had microphonic issues with those two kinds of wires, i seem to have that only with the flexible guitar cables. Probably i should not step on my guitar cables as often........

I also have high grade audio jacks, gold plated tip.
