Title: Testing pickups before installation.
Post by: gorath23 on February 02, 2008, 11:27:44 AM
Can anyone recommend a simple Ohmmeter I can buy, to test whether a pickup is faulty or not, (Out of the guitar.....), and give a reasonably accurate reading of the output? Many thanks, regards, arthur.

If you to maplins they have loads and massive price ranges £10 to £60.

Have a look on their website I assume you want a digital multi meter?

Yep - I bought one of these a couple of months ago from Maplins - still appears to be only £5.99. Works fine and had no trouble with it despite stupidly low price - ideal for testing pickups.
