Title: Calling all Photoshop wizzkids
Post by: sambo on February 02, 2008, 07:15:57 PM
Just wondering if anyone whose decent at using editing software could do a favour for me...

I'm considering changing the hardware on my LP to black as opposed to the gold it is now... so was wondering if anyone could tinker with the image in this thread:

Thanks very, very much if anyone gives it a go!!! :D

That would then look like the LP standard limited edition, good or bad?

It's weird but I've always thought blue LP's suit black hardware really well, in comparison to other colours.

Here's a very nice example of blue LP Studio with black hardware.

On Sam's LP, I'm not sure if the black hardware clashes a bit with the white binding.  But that Studio looks incredible.  :o

Yeah, I know. I've been scouting about for one like it for a while now. Just to see what price they would be you understand

Indy, I was considering some kind of chrome/nickel as well actually...

And W.O.W! at the studio! Holy cow, that is is one of the nicest guitars I've ever seen.

Phil, the binding did annoy me a little... might not look so good. Maybe black hardware, but with blue/white zebra coils (with black allen bolt polepieces) might strike a balance?

I dunno Sam, but I'm not the best person to comment, I'm such a boring old traditionalist.  :?

I quite like your existing gold h/w to be honest (don't normally like gold or black, but there are exceptions to every rule... ).

Me personally, I like the contrast of light-coloured parts on a dark LP, and vice versa.  I'd go for nickel hardware, cream pickup rings and switch ring, and blue/cream zebra pickups (but I'm not sure if the blue/cream zebra might look a bit too "bright", like purple/cream did on my LP - which is why I went with purple/black).

Hmm, yeh maybe nickel would be the best way to go.

Black/Blue was another option I was considering. DEFINITELY want a Blue bobbin in there somewhere as I reckon that's gonna look fantastic.

It's so hard to envision all the changes in your head without physically seeing them. :?

Also, maybe a Bigsby... muhahahaha!

Blue/Black would be too much I think, to me it's just too much in your face. Whereas nickel would make it stand out a little. That's my opinion. Looking at black hardware on blue just makes me end up looking at the blue altogether.
