I was just watching this and basically rolled on the laughing.

Anyone else got any really bad Gig footage?

How about this. Musically not bad when the guitars etc kick in but really think that it is turned into a steaming pile of turd.

This next one is really unforgiveable. I thought the duckwalk was bad - then the singing started. I need a gun.

I thought the Anastasia/Celine Dion one was pretty good!

Atleast they were actually singing the notes - without wailing like they were being intruded...

Anyway - we all know the worst ever cover is Avril Lavigne's take on Chop Suey.

My friend, Shakira could cover Slayer and I wouldn't fuss. As long as she wears that outfit she can cover whatever she wants!!

I never said she wasn't a looker - and she does look pretty stunning in that outfit! Just don't think she did the song much justice!

OK, I guess she didn't. But I don't even think I noticed which song it was.

Frankly, that made this old man very happy.  And the bloke at the end with the (v. cool) Hamer plays a great solo.

I have no objections to that one either, apart from the duckwalk.  And Meredith Brooks rocks.

I thought it was perfectly fine, though I have to admit that the sound was turned off.

Errr didn't notice any Hamers and had to watch it again, then I noticed that there where guitars and everything on stage.

You must've been well and truly entranced by the lovely Shakira, Rob - she's not even in shot for most of the second half of the clip!

If you have the necessary pocket money, you can meet her, she's up on auction:

Too expensive, but they're also auctioning clothes she's worn on stage.

Forgive me for saying this...  but it doesn't say if they've been washed or not...

I would imagine that part of the attraction would be their unwashed nature...

Urgh I feel dirty.

I was hoping that they where auditioning underwear, I may even have offered to do the job on the cheap.

Though I may be a little unwieldy for stage use ;) I would however refuse to be wash (if she was really insistent)

I foubt if 23p will win the auction (my current daily budget)

no clue what you're talking about richie blackmore...

in the clip, if you notice every time the kid starts sounding like shite, he starts messing around with his amp, like its the amps fault.

I don't know if this counts ass a painful gig (except maybe at the end, right enough, when the drummer takes the singer out) but yer man double take to camera cracks me up, every single time.

I can't believe I lent my Eggle to that chancer.

I should warn this is Not Safe for Work. Or Young Kids. Or those of nervous disposition.

That Shakira cover, and I'm sticking my neck out here, is better than the original I'd say.
Her vocal performance was terrible but it was still better than the singer on the original record (anything from BiB onwards is unlistenable to me because of him).
I'd take that cover over the original for the better vocals and the more attractive band in general actually (but mainly Shakira's little pole dances did it for me it has to be said).
It did feel a bit like the girlfriend of somebody with a great record collection had been allowed to be in his band as a bit of eyecandy, but what eyecandy!
