This is a pretty "noobish" question, but I was wondering how you order custom BKP's?
I was looking around the players section of the Forums and some of the BKP users had x BKP's with x magnets (like, Nailbombs with ceramic magnets).
Thanks!! :D

Type in whatever option you want in the order form in the box that has this above it:
"If you have any other comments/requests, please add them below:"
If anything is wrong or unclear Tim will contact you. I just went through this a few days ago when I ordered my first set. The waiting is killing me

Ahh, thanks a ton!
I can't wait to get my first set either! I'm very pumped! :)

or just use the phone and discuss it with tim straight away

Thats what I always do. You can talk out the effects of this and that and get the right thing, rather than just thinking "OOOO that'll be cool!"

It's definitely worth speaking to Tim, he'll make sure you get exactly the sound you want.
(like, Nailbombs with ceramic magnets).
I went for the ceramic Nailbomb because I played Pin from SikTh's guitars, and I was blown away by the sound. Tim said he put ceramic magnets in Pin's pickups so I got him to do the same for me. Now I want to know what a double screw version would sound like  !

Short and sweet would that not sound HELLA LOUD?

Well, it should just have more bass response. And look super evil!!

Haha, I'm trying to get some Nailbombs with ceramics.
(Copying Nolly's tone) I was looking around the players section, and just fell in love with the tone of Nolly :D

Think he only got a ceramic in the bridge.

That's awesome. :drink:
And yes, it's just the bridge magnet that's ceramic.

I actually think a ceramic Nailbomb could be a really cool sounding pickup since the stock (alnico) NB has quite a pronounced midrange. I'd expect a ceramic magnet to suck the mids in and give it more bass.

Thanks guys! :headphones5:

ceramic magnets don't suck mids
(ex: duncan distortion is a jb with an oversized ceramic magnet and it has a ton of mids)
in some pickups the ceramic magnet gives a lot more midrange than an alnico 5 bar
probably a ceramic nailbomb will sound more like a painkiller

Tim describes ceramic magnets as having "tighter bass, smoother mids and a distinctive high-end cut" when compared to alnico.
I'd be interested to see how he describes the ceramic Nailbomb with reference to the rest of the range. I get the feeling it falls somewhere between the c-Pig, MM and PK...

HTH and Wez have had some sensible things to say ;)
If I want to do anything remotely custom I call Tim to run it by him. BKPs are pretty expensive to make a mistake with ;)
Keeping the coils the same, and adding more powerful magnets increases the relative bass and treble responses.

Just thought people might like to know:
Quite different to all of those-closest would be a hot Cold Sweat.
kind regards

Tim,
Cheers for the info! Any idea how the ceramic Nailbomb might compare
to, say, a Painkiller or ceramic 'pig?
Thanks,
