Your Score:3 points

No substantial GAS detected. You've either quit playing, recently gotten married, had kids, or are currently on tour.

I havent done any of those things

2/3, some of those questions aren't yes or no, more of a 'yeah, ok sure'
It makes it seem like to play guitar you MUST want more gear.
Also would like to say that I would rate at about a 5 really, but I don't get to buy the new stuff :P

I got 6/10 - but I know that with the correct questions it should have been 10!  (what's with the Valentine's Day cr@p, and who wants an Ibanez anyway!)

6/10 though if they had used sth non-guitar related for "too expensive" I'd have been a straight 7

A severe case. I'm personally authorizing your significant other to place you under house arrest. Music store visiting hours are limited to Saturdays between 10:00 and 6:00 and only with adult supervision.

Indeed, I'm sure I could get a significant other to leave me on Valentine's Day, given the opportunity.  :D

And I didn't fancy the holiday at NAMM - unless I could go there the day before it opens, to avoid the crowds and constant barrage of noise.

i got 4/10... 'mild GAS' what a bollocks test ;) too much time spent on guitar related stuff this end..!

G

A better question would be - a Burr Brown opamp for your Ibanez clone/mod is three times the price of a standard op amp, but internet rumours say it is better. Do you buy it anyway?

I only missed on 2:

I've never had to sell a guitar to eat
I've never regretted selling anything

Otherwise, guilty as charged.......

Wow, so a "significant other" has actually left you because on Valentines Day, you bought a pawnshop prize for yourself in lieu of flowers for her?

I'm impressed!  :o

Yeah man, that's the spirit!!

Next you'll be ending up without partner and friends and just virtual relationships in online guitar forums ...

Oops!

The sell gear to eat question doesn't exist!  Where the hell did my memory get that from?

It was the Valentines one that I also didn't give a 'yes' to....

11. Bonuspoint: Do you happen to realise that you have acquired two pieces of the same gear from time to time?

Can more than 4 of the same make count?

Do you get extra points for deliberately getting 2 (or more)?

I bought a second  Boss DF2's because they stopped making them!

Does a phase 90 & phase 100 count as the same gear?  What about a Hendrix Wah, a regular wah, a variable Q wah.  What about a blackface Princeton Reverb, a hot rodded Princeton reverb and a Princeton Reverb II?  See where I'm going with this, I could also look at guitars,  do 57,60, 63, 64 & reissue 57 Strats all count as a Strat?

I know I have GAS because when I walk past a guitar shop I have to go in (even if there was nothing about guitars on my wanted list!).  There might be something I spot that I need.

I'm pretty anal on old parts too - I can spend hours going throuh a parts bin to see if there is something I might need.

i'm a 3 too  8)  I concentrate more on my playing than on gear surprisingly enough... though i really have no money to spend on gear anyways so i can't facilitate any GAS, it all kind of builds up inside and gets real uncomfortable at times

Hmm.  Well I have both a Korean and an English Marshall Guv'nor, does that count?

Plus I own two 1987 RG550s in Road Flare Red?

Plus one RG20th in RFR and one in Desert Yellow?

I guess all that counts

If I had the money, I'd buy two of one guitar, so they could have different tuning, and possible different pickups but I'd still love the guitar!

It's Japanese Ibanez! I respect you more!

Road Flare Red 1987 Ibanez RG550 is awesome on its own, but two is double trouble ;)!

Still got the RG770 DX?

I had it up for £350 a few months back with no takers!  Couldn't believe it.

A nice red one sold on eBay recently for £400.

Go figure.....
