Lost prophets
when
motorhead and judas priest are playing under them...
god the organisers need to get a grip its meant to be a rock and metal festival
-
That's rubbish!
-
It does look awful. Definately not going now. Thought it may be worth it, as last year wasn't too great neither, it may get better this year.
Unless..... Aiden are there!... The best bottle fights in the world
-
God, I can't stand Lostprophets. Even though they're my fellow countrymen.

Were they there last year? I only went in 2006. My mate hit the Aiden singer in the head with a carton of orange juice, the singers response "you... well $%ing done". I know I wouldn't have taken all of that and still played on

yeah they were.
they carried on playing though
and at the end just said
"to everyone who loved us thankyou to everyone who came to throw shite we just took half hour of your life that you can never have back so $% you"

I missed Iron Miaden in 2002 because i had to leave to get the last train home.
So in a way, if i went this year, i wouldn't have to miss the good bands because of the stupid train! and i'd get to miss out on lost effing prophets.

I'm so going for the KISS day. 8)

:?
Is it true that RATM are playing Reading this year? If so I'm definitely going, I have the live cd and dvd and it seems like such a good show.
-
Rumoured headliners are Rage, Metallica and another American band - thought to be either My Chemical Romance (gay), The Killers (gay), Green Day (wicked) or Foo Fighters (awesome).
-
Greenday wicked?! Good god man.
Foo Fighters would be fantastic though, definitely.

American Idiot is a horrible, horrible album, but Dookie has a few good songs on it I think. Foo Fighters would be much better though.
-
Agreed. There are a couple of old Greenday songs I don't mind listening to. Foo Fighters I love though. :)
-
I'd just go to see Everlong and Breakout live really, I imagine they'd be awesome.
-
Yeah.
The Best of You, Everlong, Breakout, The Pretender, All My Life, Monkey Wrench, off the top of the head. Just realised how much I would actually love to see Foo Fighters.
-
If you want to see Rage, metallica, and the Foos, why not do Pinkpop.
http://www.pinkpop.nl/page.php?pagID=417
they've already booked them!
say no to overpriced, overcrowded, stinking UK festivals with cr@p lineups. I'm there!
Back on topic: yup, download is ass this year. it's a $%ing joke. If I was a diehard rocker/metalhead, I'd go to Reading.
-
^Ooooo!
But in Holland....
It would make an incredible journey/experience/international camping trip with great music..
-
God, I can't stand Lostprophets. Even though they're my fellow countrymen.
my claim to fame... well one of them.
I got in a fight with one of their guitarists at a show once, threw a bottle at him and it hit his amp, $%ed his settings up...
the security were awesome at stopping him get to me though. Good times

Wow gig security that has an advantage rather than just annoying you

i've got to ask, why would you throw a bottle at a band? any band? you don't like them? fair enough, move to the back and let their fans enjoy them. how would you like some asshole throwing a bottle at you or your amp? or taking a lump out of your guitar?
years ago i though spitting at bands was bad enough, but this trend for bottling is ridiculous
-
lol calm down Blue.
And yeah this sucks, i'm going to Reading unless Download gets its act together. I like Kiss, Priest and Motorhead but that's it from the list.
-
^I'd just nut them back in the crowd, as if your gonna feel it with all the adrenalin anyway!
cr@p lineup for download though! How did that happen?
So where are The Lost Prophets from?
Reading sounds better if you can get a ticket or anywhere near the place when it's on.
-
Blue's right though Joe. I don't suppose you'd be very happy if you were performing on stage and you took a hit to the face from something thrown from the crowd.
Lost Prophets are from Wales by the way Johnny.
-
I'd go if Symohony X and Drean Theatre were playing there, but lets face it what are the chances of them playing there?

Also what are the chances of that being a fun gig?

Ahh thanks for that Sam. :)
Depends what hit you in the face, a full can of lager is gonna hurt but it's always gone on and always will. If the band make a joke of it or ignore it then it's always best.

Very high.
* That being my opinion.

Yeah they are boring to watch. Personally I think this years line-up for download sucks more than disco to be honest.
EDIT: I'd kill to see the original line-up for Alice In Chains!

I saw them quite a few times both with Mike Starr and Inez and you are right - they were bloody phenomenal!!!

You lucky Bar-Steward! Mind you I would have been about 4 years old in 1996 .

they may be
below those cr@p headliners
-
I heard that Val Doonican is gonna be there ( disappears whilst everyone either questions who Val Doonican is or realises that 38th is being facetious and ignores the stupid remark).
-

Bitchin'!
I haven't been to Donington since the second Monsters Of Rock in 1981, but maybe it's time... provided Val is headlining.

if the lineup don't improve I ain't going either...
I got my bloodstock ticket already, if you like european metal they got: at the gates, dimmu borgir, opeth, soilwork, overkill
and no aiden... i know some annoying emo girl who sucked off the guitarist...

Of aiden?
was it the fat white one or the fat asian one that nearly signed his own death certificate by jumping into an audience that hates him last year?
-

Enh, they've gotten better this tour but - having seen them 11 times now - they're not a patch on what they used to be. Less energy, Dave's voice is cr@p and the setlist is diabolical.
and I was told AC/DC are playing this year!! *sigh*
AC/DC are rumoured to headline every festival, every year.
-
AC/DC won't play, they get rumored every year but never play.
