Used the Fulltone OCD into the Budda for this one, sounds a bit artificial at times but a lot of fun to play as with the BlackDogs it's very RICH.
Have to admit I put a bit too much "wank per second" into the solo (I am actually not so fast so I just do some uncontrolled fiddling with right and left hand and hope it's gonne hit the right note <LOL>)
The only reason why I played this song is anyways the bridge to the solo (in the original from around 3:55, in my version around 3:35) - these chords are purest 80s hardrock awesomeness and worth picking up a Les Paul anytime!!!!
Oh the clip, here we go

Awesome. I now feel inferior!
Come on don't say that. Although it's very kind, to be fair - please note that it took a few takes to get it right, as said, I just widdle right and left hand on those fast parts and hope it hits something that makes sense

Very kind of you Hunter. I'll be posting some stuff up soon - just waiting to get an audio interface (can't decide on a decent one so have posted on the guitar, amps and effects section). I'll also be ordering some BKs tomorrow!

I am using a very simple interface (16/44 old Emagic 2 out 6 in USB), but I think my trusted Mackie 1202 (old version) and his mic preamps might have an impact on the recorded tone. So rather than getting the best best interface, better get just a good one and a really good mic preamp.

actually I also posted a video tutorial for this one:

It isn't the 'widdles' at the end that impressed me, although it was nice 'widdling' :D
It was the overall feel of the whole track that I liked. Very accomplished indeed.

Thanks man, well I guess 18 years of playing (with a few years of not playing in between) should be good for something.
But in fact, I tried this song the first time a few months back when _tom_ posted it and I had the same feeling, damn, he nails it and I don't >lol<
Sometimes these things just ripe, you try a bit, fail, leave it, try again a few weeks later, and then suddenly after weeks not trying at all, it's there.
I think psychologists call it "learning by not practising" or sth, you practise and fail and then leave your brain some time to make the right synaptical connections and suddenly - bang - there it is.
Had the same with the Immigrant Song riff - I never got that rhythm tight and feel fluid, and I haven't tried for a few months but all of a sudden it was there. And in a way that I think it will stay. Strange thing - if only I could make that more controlleable.

I have the same thing going on with Immigrant Song. Could never get the timing right until a few days ago. I now have the timing and just need to work on the speed.[/quote]

All these recent clips are making my SD GAS even worse, especially the Gary Moore ones.. Sweet tone :guitar4:

GREAT playing as usual Hunter (great and commendable job with taking time to do learning vids too).
However, record it again with the SHIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
My ears hear lacking upper mids and ya KNOW the Shiva kills this.
I can truly nail (to my ears) this tone with mine.
