http://www.coda-music.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=170&products_id=3179
(http://www.coda-music.com/catalog/images/SHFELINE.jpg)
I would get it but i have car insurance to pay for. :(
-
BALLS! NO WAY!
I would so have bought that.
In fact I would even sell my ENGL for that and go without an amp for a while...
-
It's the nicest tele i have seen, i want it so badly but i have too many guitars as it is and i don't really have money to spend.
-
interesting. any ideas on specs?
-
Uh - I just sold that 6 months ago for £1200! ??????
Somebody buy it before I buy it back
Should have a Hiscox case with it too!
-
AGH! Sudden GAS explosion! HELP!
I think I NEED that guitar.
-
seems unlikely someone would pay £1200 and then sell it to coda music for way less than £500 within 6 months... dont reckon it got stolen do you :?
anyway, nice guitar.. even i am tempted!!
-
Just spoken to Coda as I too was concerned that the original owner maybe got robbed. Seems they bought it in on a part ex. It also has a Hiscox case worth £75.
Still sounds way too cheap to me , but I haven't heard from the owner since the sale so maybe they had a change of heart over it
Actually thinking about it - it sold 2 days after last years LGS to a nice guy who had just taken retirement and wanted to treat himself.
Specs are swamp ash body , maple neck with rosewood board.Dunlop 6155 frets (like on a PRS)
Sperzel machineheads, Earvana nut. All access neck joint, and strat like body contours - was inspired by Jeff Beck's tele
Pickups are Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 pro tele set
Think it had a 4 way switch, and the has the electrosocket tele jack (the one that doesn't fall out)
It is a great little guitar..............
-
I guess if the guy had just retired he may have found himself more in need of cash than he realised.
Can't see the point of p/x on guitars though, you never seem to get a decent price. Although I am terrible at haggling.
-
Although I am terrible at haggling.
Atleast you don't have a drunk old farmer of a father that tries to haggle in supermarkets! The poor kids on the till just have blank faces
-
Strangely enough at the price it is selling for it is worth it for the parts alone in retail prices
Sperzels £60
Earvana £20 plus fitting
Wilkinson bridge £50
Duncan pickups £130
Hiscox case £75
Body ???
Neck ???
Electrosocket, switchcraft jack , CGE pots, 4 way switch £30+
etc etc
-
Earvana £20 plus fitting
Actually that reminds me, I meant to ask if Earvana make a 1-3/4" wide nut?
Not the type with the "screw top", the type that requires a bit of wood removed from the end of the fingerboard. The LSR replacement would be ideal if it's wide enough.
It's for that white superstrat I posted a pic of yesterday. It currently has an old Wilkinson roller nut which isn't quite wide enough; that needed 1/16" taken off the fingerboard, so I thought an Earvana might be a good replacement.
-
Yes the LSR replacement will work well
We have them in stock
-
Thanks Jonathan, I'll bring it along sometime :) . Probably not imminently.
-
That looks great-wish I had the cash-gotta be careful-but I am in danger of losing my job at the moment otherwise I'd cadge the cash from Mrs 38th.

thanks jonathan... can you remember what the neck dimensions were?
not sure if i'll go for it or not (there's a nice 80's tokai on ebay which i may go for instead if it stays cheap enough), but it does seem like great value. and if the tokai goes for more than i want to pay, or i chicken out, that feline's top of the list, basically. :)
That looks great-wish I had the cash-gotta be careful-but I am in danger of losing my job at the moment otherwise I'd cadge the cash from Mrs 38th.
i'm sorry to hear that mr 38th... :(
-
Thanks Dave-got a few irons in the fire and I may yet be ok but it is a trying time but I am sure it'll work out fine as I am an optimist.Actually Mrs 38th heard me drooling and had a quick look and said she might be prepared to lend me some cash.
-
best of luck (for your job, not the guitar in case I decide I want it! ) mr 38th! :)
-
Yes Steve, good luck in the job stakes. I'm tempted by the guitar myself, but the exchange rate makes it $1,000 - and it needs BK's too! I thought it was new because it has the new Feline logo.

It was the 4 way switch that did it for you wasn't it?
-
thanks jonathan... can you remember what the neck dimensions were?
It's about 43mm at the nut and 56.5mm at the heel
Thickness is pretty much 60s Fender 20mm at 1st fret and 23mm at 12th
-
Errrr
Is is by any chance the exact same guitar in Jonathan's avatar?
-
Errrr
Is is by any chance the very picture in Jonathan's avatar?
Sure is - well spotted!
-
Its a gorgeous piece of work!
A Tele I would actually consider owning!
And I despise most!
-
Nooooooo! I have just listed a piece showing all of the things that I have sold in order to get other equipment. I can feel GAS coming on again. Please, somebody buy it before I sell more stuff!!!!

his name's not 38? :o :o :o :?

awesome, thanks jonathan! (can you remember what the fingerboard radius is? last question, i promise... :))
-
Yes Dave, I have a boring name. 8th would have been great. Mind you, I had a full and frank exchange of views with a Director of my employers today when I protested that I am not a number. But that guitar, yes it looks great and the 4 way would make me go for it.I can't believe that price. Mind you, I love the Sapele Tabby that Jonathan has for sale on his site-that looks the business!
-
well now i just feel disillusioned...
i actually prefer this one to the sapele one... my problem is i prefer 50s teles with maple 'boards, but I'm having a really hard time talking myself out of this one...
-
That's as beautiful a guitar as I've ever seen.
My wife would DEFINITELY miss £500 from the bank. She watches it like a hawk...
-
Fingerboard radius is 12" at the nut but gets a bit flatter as I always tend to compound the raius a bit to make string bending easier
-
Thanks again jonathan. :)
now, if only i weren't so indecisive...
-
ahhh, i've had to tie my hand to my leg to stop me clicking add to cart!! just got my credit card bill today and it was a sobering, G.A.S. slowing (not, you will note, stopping!) moment. i've been considering a tele for ages, and that really doesn't help. although ideally i too would like a maple 'board.
i'll add to the thought, someone please buy it so i can't! i'll be jealous but ultimately grateful
-
their web shop seems to be not so well thought through, I was just able to add a dozen of the same used Feline Tele in my cart and go to checkout ... I didn't finish the process though
-
i WANT that feline. omg how am i gonna raise £500?
-
Too late; i just checked it out and its not there anymore!
-
So - it's either sold or they have had some second thoughts about it?
-
They've seen this thread and it'll be back for £800 in the next few days :D
-
More than likely.......
-
The link doesn't show it anymore. Too bad. I would have bought it if I would have sold my Ampeg by now.
-
Sorry guys
It was too good to miss. Of course if I go bankrupt now I'll list it here first...

Very jealous of you but glad that someone from this forum got it!
-

Nice one!
Next best thing to getting it myself is a forum-member getting it... :D
-
Yeh that was the aim of this thread really haha, i really wanted it to be put to good usage so i posted it here, though it didn't really help his bank balance :P
-
Top stuff guys!
-
I'm really pleased a forum member got the bargain......and another Feline owner on the boards
-
Congratulations Ailean. You got yourself a bargain. Now go to the BKP shop to order some Blackguards for that Tabby.
(BTW, I'm jealous and I'll hate you forever.  )

nice!
my plan of hedging my bets to see how that tokai auction on ebay went before going for the feline apparently was stupid. Oh well...
EDIT: can't really complain though... if it hadn't been for the forum i'd have never even known about it... easy come, easy go... :)
-
Thanks guys :D
(BTW, I'm jealous and I'll hate you forever. )
I'd hate me too, so I won't hold it against you.
Dave, if it helps I did feel bad knowing you were really interested, but obviously not THAT bad.
-
Congratulations. I was seriously tempted but as Jonathan says, it is good that a forumite has it.
-
Good job ailean!!
Superb guitar I'm sure =)
-
Well actually it's for the wife, but it's far too nice to give her full custody!
It will be loved I assure you.
-
Dave, if it helps I did feel bad knowing you were really interested, but obviously not THAT bad.
haha, don't worry, if anything it makes my decision about whether to go for it or the tokai much easier. truth be told, the feline wasn't exactly what i was after (prefer maple board and a more vintage radius, etc.), but at the price it'd have been very hard to let it pass. I had visions of having to buy both, haha, and that wouldn't have been a good state of affairs... if i realised i actually didn't like teles, or something...
But at least a forumite has it, which is cool. :)
Next best thing to getting it myself is a forum-member getting it... :D
yup. :)

Stop it with the GAS inducing posts! Sue's GAS is costing me a fortune...
-
Well you better not check out the Sapele Tabby on Jonathan's website-it is GAS inducing.

You're seductions won't work on me you fiend, I'm immune! Well broke anyway, which is that same thing.
Nice guitar though....
-
yeah, better save a little money back for the big finish
-
Now that is a damn fine looking guitar! The sheer balance in the shape and the beauty of the wood. Now if I am clever, I can get myself a new job and then blow my very modest redundancy payment on that.
-

That's Sue's problem thankfully, having spent all my money she'll have to resort to spending her own. :D
Sounds like a good plan 38th.

Excuse me!
Like you need any excuse to indulge your GAS attacks :D
-
You two are awesome.
