Just trying to figure out how to play the rhythm part of this song, the intro riff is a little tricky to get right, at least for my noobyass it is.
Here's a music video with the song in case you don't have it.
Do yourself a favor and skip to 1:17 when the song actually start.
The intro consists of some terrible dubbed monologue, just terrible.

Cheers! :D

Oh, if you like this riff, check out the song No One Lasts Forever by the band Silent Force; it's a more complicated version of this riff.
Ralph Scheepers = \m/

EDIT: I got the song off their site. Woo! Sounds awesome!

Oh, forgot to mention that the guitarist in Silent Force used to be in Primal Fear ...
-
Wicked tune that one.
But I find myself like the power in the Rollercoaster riff better, could just be their tone is better? (IMHO of course)
-
You mean you don't like Bryoadt's NOTHING BUT MIDRANGE WITH WAH PEDAL 1/2 DOWN guitar tone?! LOL PDT_008
-
is that what it is? I don't know, the mids sounds a bit more scooped in that one compared to the Rollercoast sound, and PF's sound in general. (it's the only SF song i've heard so far btw.)
-
You have to understand something about the way those mixes are approached. Primal Fear is mixed with the guitar being the focal point. Silent Force is all about DC Cooper; it's his band/brain child, and he is the focal point of the mix. Everything is manipulated as they see fit to make room for DC Cooper.
Not the way I would mix, as I prefer a slightly more balanced or leaning-towards-guitar mix (of course), but I give DC Cooper all the props in the world. He is a phenomenal singer and VERY few singers out there can compete with his chops, talent and effortlessness, Scheepers included. Scheeper sounds like a cat in a blender compared to the richness of Cooper's vocals.
-
I would lean towards the guitar too but WTF do i know about mixing? lol.
That being said a good vocalist can make your spine tingle just like a good riff, I like The Metal god and The ripper myself. :)
But I'll certainly check out DC cooper now that you've put me on to SF.

you free yet? :)

Have you ever heard primal fears seek & destroy cover.
Its awesome
-
yes i have. Their tone combined with some legendary riffage is indeed awesome.
I love their other metallica cover too, and 2 minutes to midnight!
I wish they'd cover some priest stuff like Hellrider.
-
The Speed King cover is pretty good as well.

I doubt that will happen due to tall the Scheeper/Halford comaparisons.
Scheeper's first band, Tyron Pace, was a great old school power metal band.
If you have trouble locating their stuff, let me know and I'll upload a few songs for you to check out!!

I can't seem to find anything from them, so ... hook it up :D
oh, and, can you explain how that rollercoaster riff is played or are you still busy? Just let me know, I don't wanna rush you just checkin'. ;)

I'm not surprised. They are little-known outside of those of us who are steeped in the ways of the Ancients Of Metal. There are precious few of us left now and even fewer who want to be wise in the Ways of Metal.
so ... hook it up :D

I'll be able to get to it after this Saturday; the insane schedule I've been keeping (due in part to a 2-week old baby in the house) will be lightening up a bit after this Saturday.
First order of business is to do an acoustic analysis I promised MDV, and then I'll get to this and then I'll track some Laney clips as promised for hate_growth. PDT_008

Ahh, I see. Busy man.
But sounds like you're enjoying it. :)

bump for great justice...
so come on, there's gotta be a metal head on here who's bored enough to figure it out for me. :)
-
Hehe, dude --- I'm on it like white on rice this weekend!!!
