Found this beauty, has anyone used one to do a direct comparison, and these babies have sustainers.
-
Personally i'd take the EC-1000 (though i have one so i would say that :P )
-
That's a $%ing tough one.
I own a Fernandes Ravelle (it and the Monterey are basically the same apart from the body shape) and I love it, it's a great guitar to play and the Monterey's are too.
But the EC's are also great! Nice fat sound but with that thinner neck.
I dunno man, it would depend (for me) then on the specifics like price, colour and the overall spec of the guitars (which I imagine is gonna be pretty similar)

Depends on the colour...
If it was a Black EC with a gold binding - Deffo the EC.
-
I'd get a MIJ Les Paul instead :P
-
From my sources, the Fernandes is cheaper.

I'd get a MIJ Les Paul instead :P

i'd do the fernandes because i like the chunkier neck, and that sustainer. Mind you, i'd get the ravelle, i'm not too much a fan of the classic les paul look, but i LOVE all the spinoffs people have done of it. fatter tone and better sustain in my experience with chunky necks. Tis the reason i stopped playing thin neck shredder guitars and now play thick chunky guitars. :D

Ravelle's are $%ing amazing guitars, they sound great, they feel great and the upper fret access is great. Very well balanced too.

The EC-1000s are excellent sounding and playing guitars. I very almost bought one not very long ago...

I'd go with the Fernandes. They are great instruments. Check out some of the demos of the sustainer in action from their site!
